  • Koehring was concerned about the wide-spread use of wheel loaders limiting the sales of small sized rope shovels so they adapted a hybrid system designed on rope shovel proven technology with hydraulics replacing the cables and drums. The 505 was the second largest Skooper machine they built, there was a 1066 offered as well. The machines were replaced by more conventional face shovels similar to the ones we have these days. Fascinating video, thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks so much for this really interesting video upload. You can see so many of the modern machine seem to have taken bits, you know ideas of this Scooper and built new machines that make this one look like a toy!
