Yeah they are pretty easy. They are made from PVC pipe and bungey cords.  Used black paint on the bars. The trick was to cut 2 pieces of the PVC in the middle and use the bungey to allow them to be pulled apart.

The are PVC pipe cut in the middle and painted black. Bungee cord is threaded through each pipe to bring them back into place after each "escape."
