  • Sooo fast !!! xD

  • is there a big difference between kyokushin and shotokan?

  • I have heard that Shotokan Karate has a chain punching technique similar to wing chun does anyone know if this is true? cheers

  • In a way, its a shame that these "single man war machines" that have studied their art in dept for years never take their time to kick these "UFC over conditioned-no skill brawlers" butts. But thats just my opinion:)

  • @andersmalling Yeah, those MMA guys wouldn't last a second against one of these guys! I'm going to work on my "kata" right now! As a matter of fact, I might just go outside and stand in a "horse stance" for a few hours and punch the air too! That'll teach them stupid guys that practice with real resistance!

  • @talon115 Hey, where do you live? We can train together. We can use choreographed attacks; when I punch at you, I'll freeze like a statue while you practice your counters and vice-versa. Until then, I'll practice extinguishing a candle's flame, with my reverse punch, while in a "cat stance." WE'LL BE AWESOME! (LOL, we're funny)

  • @talon115

Actually, you might think the Kata and stances are useless, but they're very important if you study them correctly. Kata contains all sorts of self defense moves, however, no body knows or teaches how to apply these properly any more pretty much making Kata practice useless.

Horse stance is also very deceptive. I was told by a master to practice it every day. The reason? His stance is as solid as a rock to the point where not even jujitsu blackbelts could take him down.

  • @andersmalling ehem...no skill brawlers, i see...at least they can beat some ass out of youtube trashtalker?

  • @andersmalling I agree.

  • @andersmalling Masters like these don't want to waste their time :]

  • @andersmalling true indeed

  • 100% commitment would u encourage the use of karate in ones relationships'?

Apparently u have sensi. yr an instructor right what discipline are u teaching, try the practice first u prick

  • english karate... :)

  • wow soo cool.!!!!!! wow god your good . i'm going for my 3rd brown belt tomorrow with bassi-dai. weldone though!

  • why don't people just study boxing?

  • @77montana77 everybody is different... there are those that think karate is the answer and there are those that think boxing is the answer... it all comes down to personal preference and what you want to get out of it

  • Lyoto Machida won the UFC LHW title last night - He totally demolished the current champion Rashad Evans.

  • I would reccomend Alexandre Biamonti's karate competion techniques DVD, Its one of the best I've ever seen. Do a search for him on youtube if you haven't heard of him.

  • good training sequence, but not good skill

  • No hips on the reverse punch (so lacking power). No zanshin after you finish, so opening yourself up to be countered.

Seriously, why would you make a professional dvd with so little elements of karate being shown?

  • Hips are turned on the reverse punch.

    Hmmmm in a way.

  • Who told u there is no hip turning? Watch closely, it's just that he's quite fast u can't see it.

  • Any of you karate guy's into MMA, there's a good Shotokan guy in the UFC at the mo, Lyoto Machida could be LHW champ.

  • Short'n' sweet. A good drill for squad training.

  • wow only two comments!

  • Good drill. Works timing, distance, and power. And no preparations! shotokan was always one of the more traditional styles...

  • jjj
