i've alway's wanted to become a Recon Marine, im very good in schools passing with A's and B's sometimes C's, but i was wondering i dont want to go to college first, i want to go to the U.S.M.C right out of high school, im in 8th grade, ive got a reading level of 10th and am in PREAP Science and Math and i want to go right out of high school then right out of boot camp, im not one of them COD players who all of a sudden want to join but i got some ?'s, can i go straight out of boot camp 2 Recon?
@MarineBrandon123 Im a 2nd lieutenant in the USMC. It doesnt matter what you know they strip everything from you and reduce you to nothing and then make a Marine. So, my best advice? Prepare yourself physically and most importantly MENTALLY and get rid of that individualistic mindset. I wish you the best of luck.
@MarineBrandon123 Usually the Marine Corps allows those who are already in a combat unit to try for Recon, most likely have a good record with the Battalion, it is best to be a Marine for a while, but if you are good you commander won't easily let you go.
@MarineBrandon123 NO, you go from bootcamp to combat training, it is possible right now to get a recon contract, not sure how it'll be by the time you get there, but on a recon contract, it gurantees you go to recon training ONLY IF you meet ALL the requirements to be there. You have to have an expert marksmanship qualification, expert swimmer qualification, and it's best that you be rocking a 300 PFT.
ok so i want to join marine recon but i have a question can i become an officer in recon?and if so what schools do i need to go to?and if they see action? any reply wil be hepful
@alchemist5211 get a two year degree at college with a certain gpa and you get to be either lcpl or cpl fresh out of boot. Since it's SOCOM and youd be an NCO you still get to choose who is in your squad, and boot who you dont want.
im 16 and im joining in 3months at 17 i got a perferct pft score already but i dont know what type of stuff i gotta do to prepare for recon, i can shoot well also due to my uncle being a ex force recon ss with over 100 kills in south american drug wars, but i can do that underwater swim thing and tread water but i dont know how to start training for long distance swimming plz help
@03AlexUSMC That is the biggest piece of bull shit I've ever heard. There is no ratio. There is no such thing as "90% mental 10% physical". There is only 100% mental and 100% physical and no less of either. Same goes for Army, Navy, and Air Force special ops/forces training.
My greatest respect goes out to those who serve. Especially those who willingly go through this course.
if you want to be part of the force reconnaissance marines maintain your composure, many have tried but only few survived, only the best and the brave survive here
if you want to be part of the few good men and the finest soldier in the planet, join in the marines, your life will change for the better and best forever, dont remain idle in your community, look for challenge and see the world, strengthen your heart, mind, and physical condition, something that you can be proud of for the rest of your life.
This isn't even Force Recon they have their own seperate indoc. In some comparison terms for intensity, this is like Ranger training based on attrition rate and Force Recon is like Navy SEAL training based on attrition rate and the fact it's harder then what's shown in these videos. Thumbs this up so people won't be confused with the two because Force Recon and Battalion Recon are different.
@butch2245 well yes. but my point is it's useless because if they had to do that in real combat they'd have a nonfunctional firearm which is useless. I'm just saying it would make more sense if they would switch to a rifle that was worth a shit. like a HK416 or 417. regardless OOHRAH!
@CamoNick561 --If you are serious about one day enlisting into the Marine Corps, read through the Future Jarheads website that is linked on my profile page. It is a site made by a Marine for future Marines and it will teach you what you need to know. OOH RAH!
In military training, every "Basic" training course or school is meant to condition a candidate for the lifestyle they choose: Marine Basic Training is meant to prepare a civilian for life as a Marine, Basic Recon prepares a Marine for life in the Reconnaissance field, while other schooling and courses may be required. These schools have specific training and acceptances dates and every Marine regardless of specialty will usually serve a minimum duty tour in their first enlistment +/-24 months
@BenAliGtor Face it: you gotta be a bit nuts to sign up for this shit. But every POLITICAN of the US GOVERNMENT owes a debt to these guys that THEY can never, ever, repay. CItizens only owe them their respect and hospitality.
@elnegry2008 you can't sign for a specific MOS, you can only sign for a specific field. I.E. you can't sign for 0352, you sign for 0300. When you get to your Field specialty school after you get a dream sheet. They just want to see what the percentages of people want they won't get you what you want on purpose. The only way you can pick your specialty is signing as a reserve.
Why are you talking about the army in a Marine video? idk how the army works with their mos's but in da Marine Corps you cant or its very rare that it happens
East of the Mississippi, go to Parris Island. If you have Recon in your contract, you may end up on the West Coast for SOI. If you are simply volunteering for Recon out of ITB East, you wait for someone from Reconnaissance Training Company to show up and take names of volunteers.
Doing Calinsthenics, running and swimming are good. Keep in mind that you shouldn't over train yourself and eat properly. Recon does ruck runs, zodiac boat carries, and finning with combat equipment.
yo also according to info i found online i live in IL so i go to paris island but my brother whos a marine went to pendelton, im confused can a marine answer if i can go to pend
im 16 and i just started a routine 2 months ago where i run before school for 30min, workout after school for 1hour and swim for 1hour at night, any tips from a recon marine plz i do this 5 times a week but run 7 days a week
@jeremyburfield great. train hard and with others, there is no way to train properly by yourself. Learn to stay awake, attentive, and alert without sleep for several days. Good luck =) I dont have the balls to try something like recon.
@jeremyburfield Thats garbage, tell your recruiter youll find some one else to recruit you or you wont sign the fine print untill you get infantry. You will be surprised how quickly your wishes will be granted.
