I've been looking all around youtube for videos of Koto performances and demonstrations, and i found your set of videos, and your son's practices and demonstrations really caught my attention. He seems good at koto, and looks like he has a great amount of potential.
I myself am looking to purchase a koto, do you know possibly a website online where i would be able to purchase a koto? I've seen a few websites with 6 feet and 4 feet koto, with prices from 675-800$ Is that a fair price?
that was cool!!!! You should be proud for your kids to keep your tradition of playing the koto alive. I wish I could play one. Maybe one day I will. Thanks for the video.
Great to see children with interests in such ancient musical instruments and culture. Enjoyment and preservation of one's own heritage is so important these days. Music in general is great for all kids no matter what instrument. As long as they have a way to be creative they will become their best!
and it IS really unique to have such a talented boy of 8-years. it's such a shame that here in belgium we don't have such things (japanese istruments)and when I told in class that I loved to go to Japan they all laughed :( but your son really is great, thank you for uploading," honto arigatou" -> ( correct me if i'm wrong i started to take japanese lessons with the game: my japanese coach):p
素敵な演奏でしたね。
