@pyrosimple you can stick your finger into molten iron and lead and not be harmed (as long as it was wet), moisture; specifically water, has amazing insulation properties

It's only pronounced 'aluminum' in the US. Almost everywhere else (Such as over here in the UK) the predominant pronunciation and spelling is 'aluminium'.

I have no idea why the 'aluminium' version used in almost every other country is close to unknown over in the US, but there ya go.

it's easy to make thermite. just electrolise some iron nails in salt water to get the rust, then mix that 1:1 with aluminium powder (file a nail or alu bar down). then ignite the mix with magnesium tape.
