A better/cheaper way to make your own crayons is to use your microwave or a double boiler on the stovetop to melt old crayon pieces and then pour them into one of those ice cube trays that's usually used to make ice sticks for water bottles. It's cheaper and you have more control over the color marbling in each crayon. You could also use other ice cube trays or silicone baking molds to make "fun shaped" crayons like hearts, stars, etc.
