  • Wish you were one of my best friends so I can enjoy your creations!

I love creative people, and you are just top notch.

Took a peek on your FB... and wow, I just LOVE IT!

  • @PVCLime

He he, thanks a lot! However I hope that I already post enough on facebook and my blog to share my stuff with you! :)

  • looks good.. the sword does too. lol

  • PUR!!!, oh my god. An Excelent idea!

Thanks a lot, really, thanks a lot.

I'm going to make the Daedric armour, and PUR is magic for my ears xD

  • @Rixardgcsp

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate that I was able to help you! Good luck with your project, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun! :)

  • I was wondering if you can use sandpaper to smooth it out without taking chunks out. Guess I'll find out soon lol (trying to make an animal sculpture).

    Thanks for the tutorial :)

  • @FoxFind

Hm... you can smooth it with sand paper, but I would recommend to use a knife to create the basic model at first.

  • Ironically the only tutorial i have easily followed and actually found useful was in an other language. Thankyou!

  • This is an awesome technique! I never would've thought of thank you so much! It's cheap and they sell it at wal-mart here for around $3 a can. I've used it for my bf's nautilus staff, a pair of daggers, and a small sword. (weapons for our .//hack cosplays, elk and kite for him, mia for me)

  • If your going to put the title in English why don't u talk in English

  • @MrSquirrelCat

Because it's hard for me to talk in English. But I added subtitles for you so you can understand everything.

  • @MrSquirrelCat If you are going to write a comment in English, Why not use proper punctuation and grammar?

  • why would i want to follow you make crap like this stupid bitch

  • Great video! If you're interested, an electric knife makes foam carving real easy too. I like to use coarse sandpaper (with or without some sort of sanding block) too for sculpting out, it goes pretty quick. The electric knife takes some practice, but for $12 it was a pretty good investment. Keep up the great work, love the videos.

  • Wow you can carve very fast.

I do have a suggestion though. Why not make a wooden enclosure that you can use that would allow you to use 1/10 of the foam. Seems to me that you wasted almost 90% of the foam when you could have sprayed a much thinner layer. When you first started, I thought you were going to make something very large. I was amazed at how little foam you had left.

If you can understand my logic and can figure out how to do this I think that it would be more economical.

  • @wyzyrddrummer wood would be very heavy for making a prop weapon intended to be carried around at a convention or w/e.

Yes it may seem logical that it'd be better to use less at the beginning, but in my experiences, if you try to be exact (like i did the first time) you get horrible lumps and stuff in your piece. You see how before she begins to carve, its all lumpy and bubbly? If you had sprayed the foam exact you couldn't cut the lumps off because then it'd be too small.

  • I loveee your tutorial and I can't believe it took me this long to find you. Would've made my prop making so much easier if I knew your tutorial. Anyways It's really great you are sharing your passion and I can't wait to try it out for myself!!!

  • @yeonsil173

Thanks a lot! Great to hear that I was inspire you! Sometimes it's really hard to find an easy solution for a problem and so I try to share everything I know with you guys! :)

  • would you be able to use a dremel to shape this?

  • @GermAsianGirl

Hm... you can, but a knife works much better.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh is that the soul caliber!?

  • @AimForTheTeeth

    Ehm... no. :)

  • thats awesome!! is the foam light or rather heavy?!

  • @sullychea

    It's super light!

  • Can you use sandpaper on the foam?

  • @feote911

Yeah, you can! Works fine to get a better surface at the end.

  • nice video. I especially liked the time lapse. You are doing good work.

  • wtf english title and german words? i though ze germans was smarter?

  • @RabRabNZ

Well, I guess the most of you guys would understand an english title better than a german one. :)

  • hi. I found your videos very cool, congratulations ... could tell me the name of the foam and freaked out for what it is that makes it bigger?

  • @pedroflyergt

Thanks! It's just expanding foam. Since I live in Germany a brand or a product name wouln't not help you. But you surely will find it at your home depot. And it's just water! :)

  • @pedroflyergt

The foam is called "Great Stuff" in the U.S. $5 a can at Lowes or Home Depot.

  • @pedroflyergt

Expanding foam and just some water.

  • Ganz tolle Video! Hast du gut erklaert. Love it!

  • @2techshop

    Vielen Dank! :)

  • Hey Kamui, super cooles Tutorial!

  • after youve finished the foam crafting, Is there anything to smooth it other with other than clay?

  • @I3OUND

At the moment I'm experimenting a bit with resin and fiberglass. I'll post a tutorial if I will be sucessful!

  • OK.

  • You are amazing and perfect and amazing and thank you for sharing these.

  • @MechaAigis

    You're welcome! :)

  • in English please?

  • @MrKlemensas There are subtitles. Press the CC button.

  • maybe next time, when youre fast forwarding, you can use a little bit of music, so it makes it more appealing to watch your video. :). but damn girl, that is one awesome sword !!

  • @EmmaCharmed

Well, I have to admit I was just to lazy to search free music at this moment. And since many videos are banned because of copyright issues, I was just to afraid to use something else. So... you have to watch it without music, but I'm glad that you like it despite of. :)

  • @Mogrymillian i liked it anyway, music or not, im here to see the tutorial ^^ not to listen to music xD but alot of other people might think otherwise :) where from Germany are you from? sounds like you got a different dialect then part of my family :)

  • @EmmaCharmed

I'm from Nuremberg, which is near Munich. There we speak a frankonian dialect. I tried to avoit it, but I guess I failed, ha ha! :)

  • @Mogrymillian you didnt fail at avoiding it, im just used to a different dialect, hence why i noticed it. for someone who isnt used to hearing German alot of the time, you sound like any other german haha.

  • is she using Paperboard for her pattern? (sorry for my english >_<)

  • @LadyTokkie yep, It's Pappe in german :)

  • Comment removed

  • your truely a woman with artistic skills, I'v used the canned foam befor to make stuff, but I like your idea of useing the cardbord to help find where you plan to cut, instead of free handing it all. I bet it saves alot of time for the fine tuning of a item.

  • @RobbieHooker

Thanks a lot! I'm really not a good scupter and the card board helps me a lot to find the right shape. Hope this helps you, too! :)

  • You is very beautiful. You married whit me?

    I'm living in Brazil...

And you is very inteligent. Congratulations...

  • @GMNM1

Thanks a lot, but sorry. I'm already married! :)

  • Comment removed

  • what are you spraying the foam with? does the spray make it expand more?

  • @bookfluid water, it helps it to cure

  • NIce... thanks for the vid... will have to try this... Good work!

  • Its amazing how much this stuff kills your knife blade. It seems so soft in comparision to a knife blade. I do display tanks for zoological and aquarium places and I am still shocked by how much it dulls your blade

  • @EMOxxSLAYERx

Well, I carved a lot and so I need at some point a new blade. Try it by yourself and you'll notice the same.

  • Whoa where do u buy that stuff

  • @camelfat15 Any hardware store or diy shed

  • @Minajahn

  • what the piss is she saying

  • @nickyay310

    Try to activate the subtitles.

  • @nickyay310 Piss?

  • geez. german in surely very sexy!

  • I'm thinking of using this stuff to make a guitar case. How much do you get out of one can?

  • @PaddyMacNasty

    I guess about one bucket.

  • @PaddyMacNasty A 500ml can, about 28L; a 750ml can, about 40L. These are approximate figures from the makers' websites.

  • @GrimlyKK Cool, thanks.

  • cool

  • I can't get the subtitles to work on any of the videos.

    :[

    hellllllllp?

I click "cc" and it says "captions are not available"

    Makes me so sadddd.

  • @iBeRadiokami

Oh, I'm sorry. I tried it and it works for me. Maybe you should try a different browser?

  • ausgezeichneeet! was is den das fur ein ding--heavy metal guitar or dragonhead abstract sculpture??

  • @hallobaaaby

Nein, ein Schwert aus Aion - Tower of Eternity. :)

  • anyone saw the change in blades?

  • LOL i didnt know you was German! so awesome :D

  • @Toyman1982

    Jepp, I am! :)

  • What was in the spray bottle? Was it to get more expansion from the foam?

  • @1977jmad

Activate the subtitles to read it. It was just water. :)

  • How do I get the subtitles turned on?

  • @DemonWeasel1990 Hover your cursor over the video, then click on CC in the bottom right.

  • Isn't that stuff really toxic? You should be doing this outside with better ventilation.

  • @DDofCourage I agree. I use this stuff as well, and it's quite noxious. Anyone using it really should be wearing gloves and glasses, and applying it outside. :) Not that I always follow my own advice!

  • @originalnilson

Well, sometimes I do this! Sometimes... XD

  • @DDofCourage

Well, sadly I'm not able to work outside. But I open my windows at least.

  • Kamui... you are my hero.

    Just wanted to say :)

  • @foayasha

    Thank yoouuuuuuuuu! :)

  • it looks like whiped cream i wanna wat it lol

  • What did u spray on the foam?

  • @misslead1122

    Just some water.

  • Frauloin... das ist an awfull lot of waistage ! gehabensie gemacht !

  • I made the Sparda sword from Devil May Cry using this tutorial and it worked really well. Thanks for uploading this video.

  • @hellcat805

Congratz to your success and thanks for the feedback!

  • How heavy is the expanding foam compared to the weight of insulation foam or styrofoam?

  • @Medowin

I guess it's pretty the same.

  • I just got a can of expanding foam today, and I'm using it for a staff. But how do you clean the nozzle when you're done?

  • @Goraiou46732

I don't. I just use the whole volume of the can. But you can cut the nozzle or clean it with chemicals. But I have no idea which ones.

  • @Mogrymillian Acetone works well to clean melt the foam. But it isn't reversible.

  • @Goraiou46732 I use acetone and a barbecue stick to poke out the foam in the nozzle. :)

  • @Goraiou46732 I haven't tried this foam but you can clean a nozzle by turning the can upside down and spraying

  • @Goraiou46732 Acetone is a good solvent for this purpose (and is also cheap)

  • @Goraiou46732 try acetone, but be careful it doesnt eat the nozzle too.

  • @Goraiou46732 acetone or general nail polish remover that contains it.

  • @Goraiou46732 you take the top pice of and then take a long stick and push it throug the both the pices

  • Klasse erklärt und toll gemacht, alle Achtung.

  • @MrBauschaum

    Vielen Dank!

XDDD

  • did you add water? or what's the liquid you added at 1:00?

    for what purpose?

btw i find your costumes amazing and charming!

  • @chimichimimoryo

Yeah, I added water. Please click on "CC" and activate the subtitles to understand what I said. :)

  • Your voice is adorable, and this tutorial was super helpful. Thank you!

  • @koeniglich

    Thanks and you're welcome!

  • Hallo Hallo Kamui =)

  • Woah, thank you so much for this tutorial! <3

You make this look soooo easy but I'm sure it's not D:

Also, I have a small question... I would love to try to make a scythe out of the foam, but is there a way to add the handle (aka my broomstick XD) later? To make it easier for transport :s

  • @SayaShinigami

Thank you and I don't know... but for me it's really easy. But I have to say, that I have a lot of practise, too! :)

So, why don't you add a thick pvc tube at the end of the blade of your scythe. Then you add some bore holes into the tube and into the staff you need for your weapon. And add the end you can fix both with some screws. I hope, you'll understand!

  • @Mogrymillian

Omg you are soooo smart! <3 Why didn't I think of that XD

I'll think I'll give it a try when my exams are over! Thank youuuuu~
