@MirageScience They primarily live in the jungle canopy, and they have no predators there. They only are in danger from predators when they go to ground which is very rare.

Sloth also means, laziness. Sloth is pronounced "sl-AW-th" not "sl-uh-th". That is where you may be confused. So no he probably does not mean "slut" because the pronunciation of the "o" in this case is completely different. He may be saying his mother is lazy. I hope that helps!
