If anyone is planning on getting HF100, I recommend B&H photo and video. They have it for $529 and no sale tax and free overnight delivery. I don't know how long this promotion will last.
Difference between HF10 and HF100 is just that HF10 is black and has 16Gig of internal memory. So if you are going to buy HF10 or HF100 I would go to HF100 cos it's cheaper.
what size do you recommend, cause I also entered a contest on YouTube for a 4GB Sandisk Ultra II memory card (top 200 get one free) so... if thats not enough, 8GB?
You mean, if sucks that the HF10 has internal memory that you have to pay so much money for, and that you can't remove it to insert it into your computer for easy transfer.
HF100 is most definitely the better choice, no question whatsoever.
Isn't it a pain to have to carry around a cable. I know you can use sdhc cartridges, but then what's the point of the built in memory.
I'd much rather save the $200 and spend it on a $25 16GB sdhc cartridge. The remaining money can be spent on an extra battery, charger, wide and tele lens, polarizing filter, etc.
However, does the HF11 come with a viewfinder? The HF100 doesn't. Also, perhaps it does 24 Mb/s vs the 17 Mb/s of the HF100? Not that most people would be able to tell the difference.
well, you can record onto the internal memory (for top speed, cause the memory card may not write that fast) and then when done, move (or copy) it to the memory card for transfer, or just leave it for when you get to a computer...
As long as the sdhc card has the right class, it will never be too slow or will ever skip or cause any kind of problems.
If it transfers faster that could be an advantage, but I haven't seen any reports that it is.
The only possible worth while advantage I see is the 24 Mb/s recording speed. But I've not seen any reports where there is any noticeable improvement in quality. 17 Mb/s appears to be high enough for 1920x1080 60i/30p.
Never seen a woodpecker in its nest before...only pinching the nuts from feeders. Also looked at your squirrel..hope it's better now.We get red squirrels in the Highlands...check out the latest video.
Superb love your squirrel with hiccups too! My wife, bless her has just bought me a HF10.May I ask was this shot in 60i and which software you use for editing please? Keep up the good work love to see more.

no, I got the HF11, and it has 32GB internal memory, and memory slot...
the internal memory though, comes with a transfer cable to transfer over the computer, all internal memory cameras have that, lol

Btw, it's possible to turn 60i into actual 60p !

Hi and thank you about your nice comment =)
I don't remember did I shot this "60i" or something else but I will check when I can.
I use Sony Vegas to edit my video. You can find trial version of it on the Internet =)
I hope that helped but feel free to ask more if it didn't =)
