  • For the people who are complaining that these charity should focus on helping kids in the US, you have to realize that children in the US do get clef lip/palate treatment regardless if they have insurance! These surgeries are necessary surgeries, not cosmetic, therefore, they are covered in the US.

  • they help kids in other countries cause they're more poor than some people here. in the other countries their parents make less than $2 dollars per week...we're doing alot better even though it doesn't seem that way.

  • Is it true Walter Kronkite and Jane Fonda are getting married three weeks from today (the day he died)? Where do they plan to honeymoon?

  • Smile Train is an amazing charity. It's so well-run that they can perform one operation for every $250 donated. Please make a donation today, and tell your friends. Buy a smile for someone! Thanks, and God bless you.

  • This is DISGUSTING! NO, NOT THE CLEFT. But the fact there are tons of these BS organizations focusing on helping kids OUTSIDE the US. What the hell is that? What about those here who could not afford the help they need because our shitty insurance and HMO system? Just like this bozo Jane Kaczmarek, its just a big hype and show for her. I would NEVER support a system like this. I would rather see my money help our kids AND ADULTS born with this here at home.

  • I have to agree that there is a pressing need here at home, but I can't agree that its wrong to train local doctors around the world to do these operations.

Our health care system absolutely needs reforming ASAP. Americans deserve better, we've worked hard enough. Insurance company CEO salaries are insane. 'For Profit' healthcare is killing us.

  • Great Video!

  • Thank you for your interest in The Smile Train. Since 1999, we have provided free surgery for over 210,000 of the world's neediest children - children whose parents often earn less than $1 a day. Even though our primary focus is in desperately poor countries we also recognize that people in the USA need our help too. In the past year, we have given over 1/2 million dollars to US based cleft organizations. If you would like to learn more about contact Michele Sinesky 1 212 689 9199

  • I was born with a cleft palate, Im now 33, and still have not had all of my surgeries because of the fact that I unfortunately was born a US citizen. I feel sorry for these kids too, BUT what about Americans?? If our medical system is so great, why can't it help its own? All these doctors are doing is providing this service for free to make them look good and get public notice. Guess us US Citizens and adults are SOL.

  • im part of smile train 4 my school and hope to be very helpful 4 them
