Check oil when engine cold. If top up use correct oil (see handbook) & fill gradually. Check brake fluid & coolant level between max & min tank marks when engine cold. Replace brake fluid every 2 yr. Check coolant level & top up when engine cold. Check handbook dor any special antifreeze & tap water/antifreeze mix. Don't forget to top up windscreen washer reservoir and, if fitted, check hydraulic power steering fluid is between min and max tank marks. Also check no obvious loose hoses or leaks.

What should one do if one overfills with oil? Answer: Do NOT switch on the engine. Drop some out of the bottom of the engine into a suitable tray or seek professional help.
