It's a steep, seaward mountainside, and birds of prey (raptors) often hunt on the updrafts driven by the sea breeze, and they can really go fast. In a college zoology class I learned about one of them (I think it was the kestrel?) that could easily exceed 200 km/h in a dive.

The thing that sets USA Top Gear so far behind the UK, is this:

The hosts. Pure and simple. The comedic chemistry between these three is simply unrivaled.

The USA hosts are all good drivers, but all kind of stiff.

Also, they tend to just stick in the USA, whereas the UK goes all over.

The UK version is superior, and will be for the remainder of Top Gear.

For me, the reason why I hold this as being the best example of Top Gear is that for once, we have no cars to focus on.

This leaves us with just the interplay between the three lead presenters. And that's what makes this special so good because these three are some of the funniest people on the BBC with great on-screen chemistry.

Just them, their trip and the country they have their trip in.

Just pure entertainment.

I've been to Vietnam and riden on a bike there... would go back... would not ride on the bike again- The guy drove off before my dad was on- so it was just me, my younger sister and this random Vietnamese guy who knew only how to count money in english, we had no helmets, it was a dusty road. Looking back I may find it scary now... But I was eleven I was great!!!!

I did 4 weeks in Viet Nam on a Minsk 125, It is very slow going even doing 2X the speed limit. Best parts are the NE frontier areas/china/ Laos borders. Also did 4 weeks in Cambodia, Laos & some Thailand. Off road and small villages are great fun.

However if speed and danger is your game go to BAJA! You put around at 50 to 75 MPH and hit speeds of over 100 MPH to have some real fun! BAJA is the only place I can think of where we ride from one ocean to another and back again.

We actually did Vietnam from Ho tsi Minh to Hanoi after seing these guys ...We bought an old Honda bonus 125 from Ho tsi minh..and went all the way up to Hue . There we put the bike in a bus and we took the train to Hanoi. Very cool experience.

Vietnam is an amazing place to visit.

If you ride a bike...even better.
