Amazing! A year after "winning" Miss Universe, Dayanara Torres still was not a good public speaker. I don't see what the judges saw in her considering there were so many women in 1993 that were more beautiful, intelligent and well-rounded than her. Fortunately, Sushmita Sen took over in 1994 to demonstrate that a woman can be gorgeous, sophisticated and articulate.

@HugoBossSuperModel She spoke English. In 1993,when she was crowned Miss Universe, there was more of an emphasis on the winner having the ability to speak English than there is now. When she was called into the final three in 1993, I told my mother that she was the winner b/c she spoke English and sure enough she won.
