  • are you a left handed drummer?

  • is it just me or is he playing it wrong?

  • @gibbsies It's just you. Unless you mean the cymbal work, but he has the feet and hands down.

  • @MetallicOpeth ya it was the cymbals

some times people can take sarcastic comments in the wrong way so sorry about that XD and meshuggah just has such odd rythem music thats why i fucking love it

  • dude, as a drummer, i understand these beats are fucked and well, that was awesome to watch and listen to ( be it a very crunchy sound ahha)

  • Fuck all these faggot posers talking shit bro.. Awesome job man for sure!!!!!

  • I think the guy whining about the title meant he expected it to be a video of the actual Meshuggah, but Hey I don't mind and I'm sure everyone else who took the time to watch this didn't either. Good cover and an awesome song :)

  • This is just nuts

  • dude!! this is great, and nice drum set!!!!!!!

  • holy crap

  • @Alhambrattp You suck! Roflmao!

  • @Alhambrattp it actually is meshuggah...

  • @Alhambrattp

    Clearly a genius.

  • @Alhambrattp lolwut

  • @Alhambrattp well, the guy playing the drums isnt meshuggah, but the song is most definitely by meshuggah

  • great job man ...need someone skilled as you are here :D

  • FAIL!

  • @MegaGERMANFREAK wat a r u talking about this is great!!!!!

  • Very nice. I don't even think he's using a click or listening to the song while he's playing it. Spot-on!

  • Whoa the drums are even more trippy than I thought. Great work!

  • muy bueno

  • Did you learn this all by ear?

  • @Youwishyoucouldplay This band is for people who understand music. period.

  • @KingKlammer I thought it was for the flatulence crowd myself.

  • AWESOME

  • wooah! Watch our for u cymbal man O.o

  • why is it your favorite? why not exquisite machinery, or licking what you bled, or paradoxical spiral?

  • its a a 7/8 displacing the accent of the 1 along 2,3,4,5,6 and 7, i think...

  • @Percussionfish its 4/4 with a LOT of syncopation, i think.

  • @bhedaviral im still not sure...

  • Excelente interpretacion!

  • muchas gracias bro!

  • Man...I am jealous of your drumbs and jealous of your skills...... ***5*** stars and and three thumbs up...cheers

  • weird count in, good playing :)

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • Great job as usual, try to play straws pulled at random or bleed now:P 5/5

  • Very nice dude 5*****

  • they don't even come close to failing compared to those bands. Tool is probably more unique than most of the bands out there today, but they did get their idea's from king crimson, making them a REAL band. Just listen to the lateralus album.

  • this song is like a musical knot. i less than three it.

  • wat is ur cymbal setup

  • dude come on, anyone and i mean ANYONE will fuck up attempting to play meshuggah, the time signature is just way to intense, i mean this is like way.... more off beat than Tool haha.

  • Best be trollin'

  • worst comment ive ever heard, your a moron period.

  • @careydouble22 There's way more intricate bands than Meshuggah and Tool....

  • @DistortedBrain twas an example friend.

  • @DistortedBrain i think what double means is that a person covering meshuggah might derp once in a while and play a note too early or too late.

  • @DistortedBrain Could you name a few? I'm not calling you out or anything, I'm just interested,

  • @Skivenski Off the top of my head..hmm. The Boy Will Drown, After The Burial, Born Of Orisiris, Within The Ruins*** Ion Dissonance*** Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, to name a few.

  • @DistortedBrain i dunuuunnno i guess i agree with you for ion diss and tony danza, but classic meshuggah is pretty gratuitously complicated so i duuuno

  • @careydouble22 HAHA! That is so true!

  • You fucked up a little in terms of syncopation to the song, but its clear that you can play it. Good job man.

  • Props for the quintessential throw of the stick in the air right after. Good stuff dude.

  • This album is a fucking masterpiece

  • yes I am! and I lov U baby! =P

  • Thanks for the angles

  • Wow, you are a drumming Jedi dude!

  • i guess is so hard to play meshuggah's songs!

  • This is from shed

  • this is autonomy lost from catch 33, dumbass

  • @lgeoghegan oh shit my bad I went back and listened to Shed and I heard the difference.

    the insult wasn't necessary though.

  • no shoes no socks no talent hahahahahahah jk i bet hes good

  • By the way, he is not playing off beat with the cymbals. If you listen, he goes "off beat" at certain places.

  • white pointy shoes?????????

  • No, those are called socks.

  • LOL

  • Sorry my good man, he is not wearing socks :P, he is barefoot. :).

  • Now that you said it, I see he isnt wearing any. Opps huh :) Mustve been the reflection... ;)

  • nailed it

  • NOT

  • sometimes you get a LITTLE out of time with the cymbals, you know polyrythmics are very difficult to play and that's what makes tomas haake a greeeat drummer.Anyway, well done!

  • The songs rhythms are awesome, but the drummer cymbal sticking is off. Listen close, he is getting off.

  • hey, no ones perfect!

  • Except for Tomas Haake.

  • i use the entire drumset niga i incorporate lol

  • maybe he didnt want to tear down his whole kit just to cover a song

  • It's called polyrhythmics and it's not simple at all.

  • wow ur pretty stupid kid, emmure on the other hand is the definition of simple

  • ...I'M stupid? And you're right, Emmure is really fuckin' simple, too.

  • great job Explaining. "And then its a double stroke where it goes duh duh duh dah. " lol. douche bag.

  • play the whole song douchebag

  • You play the whole song?

  • This main beat is actually just played with one foot. To maintain time you should click in with your left foot over 8 constantly on the hi hats. This will keep your flow in time. And then its a double stroke where it goes duh duh duh dah. thats just double stroke snare.... Its easier to play then it is to explain. Just a trick I thought I'd share. Most of haake's stuff is one foot. It just takes an insane amount of technical ability to perform... then again it is Tomas HAAKE!!!

  • This riff lasts for three songs straight.

Catch 33 is such a good album...

  • damn good cover of a song the BAND doesn't even play

  • Not because they can't, of course.

  • AMAZING cover!.

  • This is a flawless cover. I find it fascinating how drummers can keep two completely different patterns in their head at once. I would love to be able to do that.

  • False. The cymbals slip tempo more than few times, but I imagine that's because they're the most static aspect of the beat. Otherwise, it's still really, really good. Certainly hands and feet (badum, psh) over anything I can muster on a kit.

  • Much respect!

iv i even tried learning that i think id have a brain hemorrhage :(

  • great song and you do it major justice great sound from your kit real nice

  • left hand dominant i like

  • you are GREAT.... 5 starz

  • This riff makes my brain unravel

  • MY BRAIN EXPLODED!

  • is that a 101

  • wow man you fucking rock!

  • u can play this and i use a Paite 101 crash , wow u deserve better. 5/5 man :D

  • Excellent. I personally like the riff right after this with the snare coming in on 3.

  • always nice to see some lefty's out there that know what the fuck they're doin.

  • It's so polyrhythmic. That must have been pretty diffucult to learn.

  • pretty much anything meshuggah does is a poly rhythm. they write out the music before ever playing...badass dudes. Thomas Haake is a freakin beast.

  • polymetric

  • the lighting is cool

  • everything is based off the rhythm. the feet are accompanying the guitar rhythm and then the crash hand is keeping the quarter note (With whatever cymbals fills and china work) and the snare hand is playing off the feet and rhythm work. its not a seperate time signature.

  • awesome set, i want it!

  • Syncopated and insane....Thomas Haake is one of the greatest living drummers. Every hand plays a different time signature?!?! That's madness; I'm calling it witchcraft.

  • this is nat madness. It calls hard work. Such polirythm had to be trained for his whole life.

  • @adamish1134 and they're changing all the bloody time, hes crazy. His left hand doesnt even have a bloody beat "ill hit the snare... nnnnnnnnow!" and he makes it bloody work. freaky shit

  • muy bien loco, meshuggah es muy pichudo jajajaj que loquera mae

  • i meant quarter

  • your equarter note hand is off, its not steady

  • Good job. . .

    5 X 5. . .

  • You got skills man.

  • I've seen a bunch of big mouths talk the talk here on utube how they can play this very song with ease but so far I've found this one person who actually showed us he can. GREAT WORK!!!

  • it looks like ur using a left footed pearl eliminator double pedal.

  • maybe because he plays left-handed????

  • lmao. I don't know how you do this. There is not ONE steady rhythm. xD

  • Sure there's a steady rhythm. Watch his left hand.

  • Ah, true say. Even so. With the left hand rhythm going, I couldn't imagine keeping a beat with the right. xD

  • Tomas Haake is a tough act to follow my friend well done

  • you have uh quite a few cymbals there dontcha.

  • Quite cool, dude.

  • but im sorry that should have been a message. cool video.

  • Your video is great dude, never seen such a thing before, And you are a pretty good drummer.

  • meshuggah is so hard to play on drums, but u fuckin own it

  • good stuff man
