Good job Man. This 75 and the Sanpera II is the deal. Forget the Haters, cause they don't know shit, Man!! Got mine a few weeks ago, and it is a lot of fun. The Haters hate because they have been playing soooo long, and are soooo expert--LOL. You keep up the good work, and don't pay ANY attention to their crap!!
How would this amp do when used with stomp boxes and analog pedals?
Like in a case where distortion or overdrive comes only from the pedals and the amp is set at a totally clean setting..maybe use the delay or reverb..Would there be a clash between analog processing of the pedals and the digital modelling of the amp?
I'm seriously considering on getting one of these after watching your videos...Thanks
im getting this for christmas, should i get the 15 or should i spend more money on this 30, im pretty sure im going for the 30 cause it basically has 11 pedals built in haha ! cheers shermanator :D
how do you get that sound on the DIME amp? all it has is clean level, sustain level, sustain drive, treble, mid, bass and a button i press to change it into more of a rock and metalish form. i bought it cheap for $99 can anyone tell me please?
thanks so much for making this vid man! I plan on getting this exact kind of amp next week so knowing all about it really helps assisst my decision. Personally ive found that Peavey has a lot more to offer people as far as other amps go.
Hello can you please answer this question?? D: my friends and i play guitar, and one of them got the line 6 but i didnt think it was that good. and i am low on cash and im not playing in any band so do you think i should get peavey vypyr 30 w or a peavey vypyr 15 w? if i get the 15 w then i also can get the sanpera 1. please reply to this. :) i like the way you tell us about all the sounds and such. reply! :D
@sherman614-thanks right now i am play with the (Line 6 Spider Valve 212) is a great tube amp. i really like the auto wah and distortion sound on this on this peavy vypyr hey how much is the( 100 tube for the peavy vypyr? )
@deathtime5 Thank you! And the setting i use for a really heavy, metal sound would be. Amp module: Rec (Red) Stomp box: Tubescrm Para1 set at (1) Para2 set at (3.5) Effects: Bypass Para1 set at (1) Para2 set at (1) Pre gain: 7 Low: 7 Mid: 1 High: 7 Post gain: 7 Feed back: 1 Level (Delay): 1.5 Level (Reverb): 2.5 And to be honest i don't remember, that was all factory pre sets and settings i was messing around with on the fly. And those were all on my old one, I've gotten a different one now.
@MoScreamo10 hey hey screamo sucks intensly and that "metal core" isnt metal core its fake metal and making us real metal heads look bad so start calling it something different like queer music
@BrutusJones yeh i seen a guy mic up a peavey rage 15 the old blue one and i thought it sounded kick ass.About a year later later i saw his band playing with a 5150 and i was disappointed with their sound
Muy poco versatil el amplificador, los sonidos son demasiado saturados :/ lastima podria decirse que es solo un amplificador para metal y los sonidos son ahi no mas un R-fier emulado por un roland cube 60 le vuela la raja mil veces
you brought this out on the day i got mine XD so far, i'm struggling to get higher gain marshall sound. I think the mahogony body of my les paul muddies up the sound of the Plexi model too much... any advice?
Nice video :) just what i've been looking for, great help
@laconchatu definitely this amp man, I only have the 30 watt and i'm afraid to take the volume past 2, its just too loud for house hold practice, and the bad thing is the volume goes up to 13! so the 75 watt will be loud as fucking hell.
yea so im tryin to get this amp, and i also want a pedal and i was lookin at the boss ds1 since its cheap and ive heard some good stuff about it, but if anyones got any better ideas?
@sherman614 i know i dont really need one but if i want to play a song where i need to switch often between clean and distorted i dont wanna have to stop every 30 seconds and switch it on the amp...is there a better option?
I know what you mean, man. And yes, they make the Senpera pedals for this amp. They make a Sanpera 1 and 2. The 1 has a foot stitch like that of a wah pedal, and some preset buttons so you can switch from what you're playing to one of four different presets. So you could go from clean to dirty or to an effect =]
i was considering buying this amp within the next month or so. right now i have a peavey rage 258 and it's pretty decent but it's only 50 watts and i play alot of shit with my friends and need an amp to keep up with my buddies 75w line6. we play alot of hard rock / metal - basically heavy guitar style music (like slayer or amon amarth) and was wondering if you think this amp can put out a strong metal punch. i have a digitech heavy metal distorter pedal but the amp is what matters.
This amp puts out a HUGE punch man, its insanely loud, and you can dial in some amazing crunchy, beefy tones with this amp. But, you cant use pedals with this amp
@sherman614 did you say you CANT use pedals with it? because i have a digitech hardwire tl-2 and i'm considering of buying this amp but i think that the amp on itself can deliver some good death metal please let me know what you think
The amp CAN dish out some amazing metal sounds. Watch my How to - My cures and my Random Parkway drive play videos for some sound demo's. And idk, all i know is is that when i dried using my sisters Cry baby wah pedal all my amp did was make a constant fluctuating sound and it wouldn;t respond to anything i did.
Very nice Demo of the different sound capabilities of this amp. I have a 75 Watt Vypyr that I had to send back to Peavey for repair recently, because I went to turn it on one morning and it was completely dead. Peavey repaired it by replacing the 5 Volt voltage regulator that had gone bad and caused a fuse to blow( open up). This was the first time I've ever had a problem with a Peavey. I now plug it into a voltage surge protector so hopefully it won't die again. It is a very good sounding amp.
Dude, I am 47 years old and have been wanting to learn guitar since elementary school, but always had some kind of hold-up. I appreciate a new guitarist offering a demo on an amp I have considered buying. I think you sounded pretty good for someone who had been playing for a year. I have a wife and two kids, which makes learning the guitar more challenging...(and I'm only getting older). I say "well done" !!!
I started when i was 17 (almost 3 years ago) but man it's NEVER to late to learn! everyone no matter what age still have to over come the same obstacles when it comes to learning something new. I know what you mean about it being more challenging, but i say do it man! it's a great hobby and feeling. And i think this amp would be PERFECT for you, it's cheap and has every sound you'd ever need. And thank you for the complement man =]
@sherman614 Hey , Thanks for the encouragement!!! I have three electric guitars, an acoustic, and a Brasilian classical that I bought 26 years ago. I just bought a Line 6 Spider IV 75 watt amp because it was recommended to me over the Peavey.
@kobalt1963 i think u waited a little to long but as long as u just stick to it you got plenty of time to master the guitar, i myself started when i was 11 and now im 15 so
Well, thank you for the comment. But I'm not really demonstrating my playing, I'm demonstrating the amp. Plus i had only been playing guitar for about a year at this point in time. It would be nice if you're a fellow guitarist (which i assume you are since you're watching an amp demo video) then i would like to think you'd be giving me advice, instead of bringing down another fellow musician.
@sherman614 Well said. People like that douche "Dougiedogg" just suck. Keep on rockin' dude! Nice videos and introduction of the amp. I'm concidering to buy one of these myself.
This guy is giving demonstrations of this amp's abilities and features. There is a difference between somebody volunteering their time to demonstrate an amp's features and somebody trying to win "America's Got Talent". Thank you Sherman for taking the time to show me the extent of my amp's ability. As for you Dougie...stop being a little sh!t. Thanks =]
Great sounds, I have this same amp but it died after only 5 months so it's back at the Peavey Factory for repair. I got up one morning and was going to practice a few riffs and the amp wouldn't come on, it was completely dead. I'll do a review of how long it took Peavey to repair it and ship it back to me.
Wow man.. that is actually the EXACT same thing that happened to mine. I had it for a little over a year when it did it though, i had the two year full replacement warranty, so i got a new one at Guitar center. I hope this one lasts longer X]
Good review, but unfortunatly, you got things a bit wrong. 1. that knob your turning to "Change the pitch" doesnt effect the sounds at all, it only applies to the delay, and since you have no level on your delay, it does nothing. You only have direct control with those two knobs. Also you forgot to mention the all useful Power sponge which gives the amp a fuller sound like your going balls to the wall with volume, even if your volume is at 1.
Thank you for the feedback, you are right. But this was well over a year ago, like.. the day i got this amp lol. Maybe i should have really gotten familiar with this amp before i did this review, but i was just really exited. I was also a pretty crappy guitarist then x]
hay i have two amps, ones a basic 150 watt laney with no effects, the other is a 5 watt with one effect on it. i found that if i plug my laney into the head phone plug on the 5 watt, it comes out the laney A HELLA LOT LOUDER than before with the effect,
what i want to know is, does it work with all amps?
This amps rocks no matter WHAT wattage it is lol X]
The only thing missing would be the Stomp box settings, power sponge. USB out, and the MP3 out. Other then that it's amazing. And honestly, it's really all you need, unless you like rockin' out so loud you scare the neighbors... like i do xDD
@sherman614 Thanks, I really do have my heart and guitar set on that amp. I checked out the Line 6's and they just didn't even seem to compare. But I've been playin' a generic electric/acoustic, and a generic amp, I didn't even know they had generic amps man. Any pointers you can give me. I know I may be in the wrong to go out and get a good guitar and rockin' amp, but i figured it would be better in the long run, and the sound is just too good to pass up.
@HitoriItai honestly even though im a line 6 fan personally i would still recomend the 15 its got alot to offer for the price and since its a moddleing its gonna sound the same regardless of the wattedge nothing really changes with moddling amps short of say a small extra affect and the fact that the bigger ones are the obvious facter louder
Well, i have never played a gig before. But i know for a pact that it will make every wall in my 4 bedroom house rattle at just the volume level of 3 lol. And that's 3 out of 13! So I'm sure it's PLENTY loud enough =]
@sherman614 Did you mean that for me or did you just push the wrong "Reply" button? If not then: NO! Are you insane!? Of course I don't buy amps based on their looks! If you notice the thing at the end of the sentence, yeah, that's called a "Questionmark." It was a question!
I have the 30w version I'm thinking about upgrading to the 75w some would say it seems dumb but I really enjoy the Vypyr platform with some many effects and stuff, But I want the 75w because of course louder, but also the USB port and power sponge don't come on the 30w version so I might sell the 30w and spend an extra 100/150$ on the 75w
Uhmm... i don't have a lot of play time with the 30watts... but i think personally for gigs you'd want the 75w or the 120w. It has more head room, more bass and whatnot. And thank you! :] I've gotten much better though xD
I'm considering either the Vypyr 30 or the Vypyr 75. I pretty much just play at home so do you think I should just stay with the 30 or is it worth it to go with the 75?
@anthony197666 It can work that way, some people use guitar combos with they keyboards. It just will be mono of course. And make sure that the input of the computer is not too high. If it is too high than it will give a bad noise which You will realise.
Nice demo! Hey, would this amp be big enough for clubs and such or is it a little too small for that? I guess you could mike it into a PA system for more volume.
What do you think? Maybe the Vypyr 100 2x12 would be better for that?
I just picked up a 4 month old 75 w/ a sanpera1 for $125. I also have a vypyr 120 and i love em both...they can do anything

@sherman614 Hey , Thanks for the encouragement!!! I have three electric guitars, an acoustic, and a Brasilian classical that I bought 26 years ago. I just bought a Line 6 Spider IV 75 watt amp because it was recommended to me over the Peavey.
kobalt1963 1 year ago
@kobalt1963 i think u waited a little to long but as long as u just stick to it you got plenty of time to master the guitar, i myself started when i was 11 and now im 15 so

Well, thank you for the comment. But I'm not really demonstrating my playing, I'm demonstrating the amp. Plus i had only been playing guitar for about a year at this point in time. It would be nice if you're a fellow guitarist (which i assume you are since you're watching an amp demo video) then i would like to think you'd be giving me advice, instead of bringing down another fellow musician.
sherman614 1 year ago 15
@sherman614 Well said. People like that douche "Dougiedogg" just suck. Keep on rockin' dude! Nice videos and introduction of the amp. I'm concidering to buy one of these myself.

You are HORRIBLE at spelling correctly.

I'll do a review of how long it took Peavey to repair it and ship it back to me.
doneaster 1 year ago
@doneaster
Wow man.. that is actually the EXACT same thing that happened to mine. I had it for a little over a year when it did it though, i had the two year full replacement warranty, so i got a new one at Guitar center. I hope this one lasts longer X]
sherman614 1 year ago
Ha dude you said it sounded like you were playin through a tube whell that's cuz its a tube amp!!!!
rexbo20 1 year ago
@rexbo20
No, this is the modeling version. Peavey does make a 60, and a 100w tube Vypyr though.
sherman614 1 year ago
Good review, but unfortunatly, you got things a bit wrong. 1. that knob your turning to "Change the pitch" doesnt effect the sounds at all, it only applies to the delay, and since you have no level on your delay, it does nothing. You only have direct control with those two knobs. Also you forgot to mention the all useful Power sponge which gives the amp a fuller sound like your going balls to the wall with volume, even if your volume is at 1.

@TheGuitarkid15
Thank you for the feedback, you are right. But this was well over a year ago, like.. the day i got this amp lol. Maybe i should have really gotten familiar with this amp before i did this review, but i was just really exited. I was also a pretty crappy guitarist then x]

@sherman614 Yeah, I kinda thought somethin was up,lol. It's wonderful amp for the price.

hay i have two amps, ones a basic 150 watt laney with no effects, the other is a 5 watt with one effect on it. i found that if i plug my laney into the head phone plug on the 5 watt, it comes out the laney A HELLA LOT LOUDER than before with the effect,
what i want to know is, does it work with all amps?
Gingerlord01 1 year ago

i got this amp in 100W with the 2 12's.. i like the amp
but only problem i having with it is my Line 6 Pod X3 doesn't wanna work with it to well.. anyone know how to get it to work with it? Thanks
anthonydiller49920 1 year ago
@anthonydiller49920
You cant use external effect boxes with this amp. It already has built in effects. It throws the amp off and wont work right if you try it.
sherman614 1 year ago
badd-ass amp dude..i just ordered it today after i saw your vid a few days before.in 3-4 days i'll be cranking up the metal on it..thanks a ton :D
virusAlex20 1 year ago
hey man, this is rockin'. I'm thinking about getting this, but my pockets are kinda shallow, so how would reccomend a 15 watt?
HitoriItai 1 year ago
@HitoriItai
This amps rocks no matter WHAT wattage it is lol X]
The only thing missing would be the Stomp box settings, power sponge. USB out, and the MP3 out. Other then that it's amazing. And honestly, it's really all you need, unless you like rockin' out so loud you scare the neighbors... like i do xDD
sherman614 1 year ago
@sherman614 Thanks, I really do have my heart and guitar set on that amp. I checked out the Line 6's and they just didn't even seem to compare. But I've been playin' a generic electric/acoustic, and a generic amp, I didn't even know they had generic amps man. Any pointers you can give me. I know I may be in the wrong to go out and get a good guitar and rockin' amp, but i figured it would be better in the long run, and the sound is just too good to pass up.
HitoriItai 1 year ago
@HitoriItai
It's not just just how loud it is, it's also going too have more bass, which makes everything sound better if you're into rock and metal.
sherman614 1 year ago
@sherman614 Alright man, thanks. I have Schecter She Devil in waiting.
HitoriItai 1 year ago
@HitoriItai honestly even though im a line 6 fan personally i would still recomend the 15 its got alot to offer for the price and since its a moddleing its gonna sound the same regardless of the wattedge nothing really changes with moddling amps short of say a small extra affect and the fact that the bigger ones are the obvious facter louder

Well, i have never played a gig before. But i know for a pact that it will make every wall in my 4 bedroom house rattle at just the volume level of 3 lol. And that's 3 out of 13! So I'm sure it's PLENTY loud enough =]

@Elsoddo
If you're going to buy an amp based on looks instead of sound, then i feel sorry for you.
sherman614 11 months ago
@sherman614 Did you mean that for me or did you just push the wrong "Reply" button? If not then: NO! Are you insane!? Of course I don't buy amps based on their looks! If you notice the thing at the end of the sentence, yeah, that's called a "Questionmark." It was a question!
Jeez man...

peavey sanpera 2 you'll get more out of it

I have the 30w version I'm thinking about upgrading to the 75w some would say it seems dumb but I really enjoy the Vypyr platform with some many effects and stuff, But I want the 75w because of course louder, but also the USB port and power sponge don't come on the 30w version so I might sell the 30w and spend an extra 100/150$ on the 75w
Daemonfury1 1 year ago

283trivium 1 year ago
@283trivium i have a 30w one. in my option its really loud.. like incredibly loud lolol. and that on like volume 1-2
MrMusicM67 1 year ago
@283trivium
Uhmm... i don't have a lot of play time with the 30watts... but i think personally for gigs you'd want the 75w or the 120w. It has more head room, more bass and whatnot. And thank you! :] I've gotten much better though xD
sherman614 1 year ago
I'm considering either the Vypyr 30 or the Vypyr 75. I pretty much just play at home so do you think I should just stay with the 30 or is it worth it to go with the 75?

if i use this amp as a computer speaker as well, will it cause any damage to the amp?
anthony197666 1 year ago
@anthony197666
I don't see how it could, unless you turned it up unGODLY loud and left it on like that for hours a day lol
sherman614 1 year ago
@anthony197666 It can work that way, some people use guitar combos with they keyboards. It just will be mono of course. And make sure that the input of the computer is not too high. If it is too high than it will give a bad noise which You will realise.
TankDriverOriginal 1 year ago
Do you think the 120W amp is enough to play live in small bars?? things like that??
Torqueofficial 1 year ago
@Torqueofficial
Hell this 75w is loud enough to play at a bar, but if you just want that extra headroom go for 120 man =]
sherman614 1 year ago
@sherman614 Comparing the 120 Vypyr amp with the 6505 212 combo, which one is louder??
Torqueofficial 1 year ago
@Torqueofficial
Probably the 6505, but I've never played both side by side lol. But off the top of my head i believe the speakers on the 6505 are bigger.

Nice demo! Hey, would this amp be big enough for clubs and such or is it a little too small for that? I guess you could mike it into a PA system for more volume.
What do you think? Maybe the Vypyr 100 2x12 would be better for that?
Opinions appreciated.
Thanks
