Word. Sabian has some great cymbals and has some good budget stuff, but I like the traiditonal feel of Zildjian and Paiste. Sabian isn't bad, imo, they just don't sound the way I need my cymbals to sound. Meinl is great, but not what I need, and Bosphorous and Istanbul are too expensive.

I would have to say that his drums do lack some articulation that modern set-ups would have, which is due to the tuning and the sizes of the drums, particularly to the depth of the drums. The cymbals, like the drums are older models and do reflect the character of the time, a modern cymbal sound would be warmer than these, and Neil Pert has changed his set up over the years to a more modern sound, unlike this drummer. of course, you would have to consider that the recording is poor.

Yes, the audio and video are synchronized, the drummer played the song very well, but I obviously meant that with the microphone on the camera, you may not get the same impression from the way the drums sound if they were recording in a studio, which would change you r impression of the performance.

but still, one point is that these drums are ok, but they are outdated and they are not the best for playing modern music.

Like I said, if they were recorded properly they would sound much better.

You are right on the LIVE version. Neil hits the china three times with a rolling pattern on his bass drums. On the studio version it's actually a sample sound resembling a lightning strike. I'm kind of doing an "in between" version mimicking the lightning strike sounds.
