I did chem peeling like a year ago, and I used to have lots of acnes on my cheek (most of it because i'm allergic to some cosmetics). And the doctor told me to not use any kind of make up for 1-2 days.. It really did wonder to my skin, 80% of the acnes on my face are gone.. :D
But, it did make my skin looks horrible of the first 3-5 days.. I look like a tomato, and i always skip school after this treatment. :)
Ok so let me get this straight. You pay money to someone who puts chemicals on your face to make the dead skin peel off and then it scabs over and the healed skin will be beautiful? Is that about right..seems so painful to go through....isn't there anything else that can be done besides a scabby face?
Can you show a recent photo of you skin now, so we can see the end result? I am going to do a 10% peel soon & have been doing a lot of research. Thanks!
Not the best job, but that blacked-out "burnt" look actually peels off acne spots a lot faster. Jst keep yourselft of strong lights (specially the Sun) and hydrate inside and outside. Just wait a week or so.
did it work? how did your skin look when all of the peeling was done? i do't think a chemical peel or any procedure for that matter should have these effects.
when you use toner lotions if you have used them in the past it only hides the damage it does not remove it we have sun damage under our skin to not just above so thats probably what it is I hope it cleared up.
I saw your recent videos and your face looks good. How many times did you chemical peel? and how long before you started seeing positive result as in public outings?
ah, i just had a chemical peel. mine is actually worse looking. i had to go to a movie a couple days after and i only begun to peel a little bit. it was so scary going into public like that. (though this was at night cause i cant go outside yet into the sun) i cant wait till it all peels off my face its so uncomfortable lol but its really not as bad as the movies make it out to be...i thought my face would be gushing and oozing constantly like a hamburger left out in the sun.
It is not uncommon for people with ethnic skin to develop hypopigmentation after a chemical peel. You are litterally stripping your skin of most to all of it's layers, leaving it completely raw and exposed. The hypopigmentation is brand new skin being formed so it's not as dark as the surrounding skin that has not been stripped and still remains. It's a long process until that area of skin's melanin will bring it back to the rest of the surrounding color, I hope it's better for her now :(
i was just researching on chemical peel, considering getting it done coz i have big pores and wanted a way to reduce the size, i take this video as a warning not to do it :/
(you have beautiful eyes btw) hope the skins better now
I don't think this is good for black skin. I just don't. We have melanin and 'hold on' to scars. I'm glad I saw this because I was about to get a chem peel, next week. I'll just stick to the milder microdermabrasion.
can you tell me how much the chemical peel cost? And where did you get it done? I have acne scars too and would wanna try a chemical peel to get rid of them. Also, is getting it done once enough? Or do you need to have one more than one? And how is your skin now? Can you please give me some info? Thank you :) xoxox
Wow, you sure did go through a lot, Congratulations!! Your hair looks super cute when you have the curls, btw. How is your skin now? I have scars all over my face from my 25%TCA Chemical peel. I've been getting fractional laser resurfacing to correct the scars and discoloration all over my face. I jsut starting making videos of the whole process, thanks for sharing :) xoxo
but a dermatologist who deals with mostly Caucasian clients is more familiar with that skin type and the way IT reacts to certain things..I dealt with a similar problem, luckily it wasn't this particular situation, but still nothing that I wanted to deal with :-/ ..I got a second opinion from a dermatologist who specialized in ethnic skin care, and without disrespecting the other doctor, she informed me on what was wrong with my current treatment and everything from then on went well. :-D.
I have a few questions..was your doctor a DERMATOLOGIST or PLASTIC SURGEON? or..some other type of doctor who offers chemical peels? One thing that people forget to do is FIND A DOCTOR WHO IS FAMILIAR WITH YOUR SKIN TYPE..for you, that's ethnic skin..this does not mean your doctor MUST BE BLACK, lol, but, check to see if they SPECIALIZED in ethnic skin or even cosmetic dermatology vs general...all of these things could make all the difference..you're not gonna react the same way as a Caucasian
oh wow. This is a result of one of two things. Either this is the normal healing process of a chemical peel. Or she recieved the wrong kind of peel for her skin type. It is important to do your research before deciding to do a peel because it can severly burn and scar your face.
Listen guys! u gotta research on what type of skin rejuvenation ur willing to do, cos theres chemical peels, laser resurfacing but dermabrasion is the most popular for younger people, and its the one with least side effects like skin discoloration which u can get with chemical peels, so dermabrasion is better for all skin types... umm i'm having it done 2moro :) also, no down time, so the results are instant.
@EmpressBeauty i did my research and that hasn't gotten me anywhere in decided if a chemical peel is good for me. I have dark skin and i read many times its risky to do with dark skin but i had a bad reaction to acne medication and i've had hyperpigmentation for over a decade and i just want to get rid of it and exfoliate the top layer but it comes with many possible complications with dark skin....the white people don't have to worry about that but what do i do to resolve this!???
@whole27 If you still have acne, you must get rid of your acne first because the peel will burn and scar the infected tissue. Isotretinoin is a good acne medication which not only heals the acne but it also renews and "evens" out the skin tone with collagen stimulation. The mistake that many people do, is that they do the chemical peels when their skins are prone to acne because they are eager to get rid of it, and what you get are burns and scars. Continuing....
@whole27@namihia some peels help acne, however, dermatologist prescription medications work faster and more effectively..just make sure you're working with someone trained with chemical peels and your skin type (ethnic)..otherwise you may run into some problems...neosporin is definitely not what you want to put on your face afterward, it can worsen the situation, a 30% glycolic should not leave any burns at all unless improperly performed... :-/
@whole27 For dark skin, you need to apply a much smaller solution, no more than 30% glycolic acid and only on the area with hyper pigmentation. A more effective way and perhaps less sloppy, is the laser, again, concetrated only on the hyperpigmented part. After the treatment i would go with neosporin on the burned areas so that they do not infect.
@namihia what makes u an expert? Your light skinned! I don't have acne...but i got my hyperpigmentation back in high school from a bad reaction to acne medication...now 12 years later i still have the darker pigment all over my face and want to get rid of it badly! I'm too scared at this point to get chemical peels donw cause dark pigment is so sensitive and can get darker...i can't take that chance....i'll just go pay to talk to a dermatologist
You need to sue whoever did your procedure because they did it incorrectly. Clearly whoever applied the Peel did not take the proper precautions to test the strength of the peel and pay attention to the time the peel was left on. I have been getting strong peels for quite some time. You are suppose to get a little swelling, some redness, and LITTLE scabbing. You need to change dermatologist immediately.
thx u 4 ur testimony. I appreciate it a lot. hope it has gotton better by now. It look as tho in the end of the vid, it was trying to heal, as if it was scabbing over.
My friend had the same problem as yours, she got burnt because she went to a cheap/unexperienced Dermatologist! Later on I did the same peel on my face/chest/back/arms but with a bit more experienced/expensive Dermatologist and I was really really really happy with the results! Very clear skin, no marks or whatsoever! Even my friends got jealous and went to the same Dermatologist as mine!
My skin always peels after I do a peel. Always! I look like I've had a bad break out for like 3 days. Then it clears up and my skin is beautiful. It's part of the process. Maybe you had a bad reaction, but I've seen people's face look like this before during the scabbing phase. It's definitely not typical.
Hi skymoon. Can u plz let me know what is the final result coz my wife she just start the same treatment which u got. She has one setting already and now she have lot of spot on her face. So what u suggest us, what she has to do. Leave it or be continue?. She is so worried
Oh my god! You poor thing! You're so naturally beautiful, you probably didn't need those peels at all. I understand why you would though...there is so much hype about how amazing they are. I had no idea the damage they could do. I was truly considering having that done, but now I don't think I will. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I hope things have gotten better for you. You are such a lovely girl!
babe my skin used to be like that n maybe at 1 stage worse.. bt its so much better now cos of my exfoliatin twice daily with a tough scrub takes off all the nasty top layers off your skin..and over time like 3 months cleared up amazing
Women of color, asI am, have to be careful when using and getting a facial peel, it will make the hyperpigement worse, make sure you do research before getting a chemical peel
I am soo glad you showed this. I too suffer with this same issue. Blotchy and irritated acne ridden skin. Its horrible Im not 1/2 as brave as u. I love u for that!!! HUgs sista... Im gonna look into gettin that done toobut only if it helps enough for u.. The dermotologist hasnt been too much help.

Confidence. I feel for her so I'll be honest. The before was absolutely horrid. But I'm confident that her skin will improve with time and patience. I can see that she's beautiful but the scars and pigmentation really takes away from her beauty.
Don't tell some one they're fine when they are not. Be honest and tell them how to improve. Otherwise, you'd be doing more harm than good.
Thank you very much for sharing, i was considering a procedure called laser genesis for enlarged pores, and booked a consultation to that effect, on reaching my consultant told me that it was not suitable to my skin type, i was confused having done some research and realised some women of color had it done and had great results???? instead she recomended chemical peels, as soon as she mentioned i got my things and left, tread with caution....
@crownroyalchi chemicals peels are safe. before going for one avoid scrubbing, whitening products3 days before or let them know whats products u r using at home. avoid direct sun for at least 3 days. dabbing moisturisers instead of rubbing in. i normally avoid creams day/night but sunblock is a must.
hmmm just wondering..how is it now? after all this time? Oh and BTW you are pretty.I had scars on my face because of acne, but not so many, and they are fading away ( i use lemon, vitamin e and potato lol)
Mine had wonderful results! I had the proper medications and it did vanished my pimples. You know you really got the wrong dermatologist.. If he or she is good then I would not see any zits on your neck or face anymore and he or she is informed about the right application of chemical peel in your face whether you are sensitve type, combination, oily or dry...
uuuhmm... I think you had the wrong chemical peel procedure somethin like that and the wrong dermatologist.. I had a chemical peel to.. mine did peel.. the dermatologist injected me an anti acne serum then the peeling.. before that she rinses of my face and injected my pimples before she pops it out then chemical peel. It was applied to me twice cause Im an oily skin and so that she will know if my skin is sensitive or not.. actually the maximum is five application of chemical peeling.
You look amazing. I was talking w/ my partner about your progress from when you had your lap band till now and I think you look great minus the scars and those will heal up some. I would say don't do anything else. You look amazing. Best wishes.
All I have to say is I was watching your videos from when you had your lap band all the way till this and I am shocked. I was talking w/ my partner about it because he is considering Lap Band and all I have to say is don't do anything else. Your beautiful. Your body looks great and the scars will heal. Take care of yourself and thank god for the luck he's given you with your surgeries here in the States. Best wishes.
Why don't you show us the final results? This looks like a great job. This is exactly how it should look because each of these spots will peel off and leave your face without that spot hence, shedding the damaged spot. It looks bad for a few days or weeks sometime but what a difference it can make in the look of your face for the future. Small prices to pay for such an improvement.
Those of you who would like to try a chemical peel don't be scared. The peel that she received was much too strong for her skin type. It's up to the esthetician or doctor to advise you wether or not you are a good candidate, so just make sure that you go to someone where they can show you before and after pictures or get a referral. She didn't say if they did a patch test on her, if they had she would have known the peel was too strong for her.
Woow what is this!! Honestly I'm afraid. I was badly planing to do some too.But with this result I am scared to burn my face.I prefer to let my face with so little dark spot than burning it .Thank God i find this post on time. And sorry for U girl,I hope you get better now.Don't try anything else just use some natural fruit juice on your face(tomato, cucumber, carrote, watermelon, apple, mint, lime) juice and you will get 100% good result without harm but takes long you have to be patiente.Good luck!
they probably used to high of a percentage on you im black and ive done it three times my skin looked really good after i was dne peeling i want get it done again
I just had 2 chemical peels done within a month or so and at first they used a 20% acid, the second one was a 25% and I have to say that it was amazing. There is some redness for 24 hours then you will start to peel for about 3-5 days, but it all goes away and there was little to no discomfort for me. I'm not sure what type of Dr's you are going to but it should not be a strong dose at first and it should not hurt or be uncomfortable. I have seen amazing results and hope you do too!
I recently had 2 chemical peels done for cystic acne scars as well as active acne. The esthetician (spelling might be wrong) started out with a 20% peel on the first one and then went to 25%. Both chemical treatments made my face pink at first but faded within 24 hours and then my face began peeling like a sunburn. I will tell you that the stronger the chemical used, the worse the peeling will be but it should only take 2-3 days for your peeling to subside. I have to say, it is working wonders!
WOW! I wonder what % they used on you. The doctor or Licensed Esthetician should have also informed you that make up right after a peel is not recommended. If you do wear make up it should be not for a a day or two and always mineral make up (such as glo cosmetics/bare minerals/jane irendale). I have very dark skin as well and stay away from the more intense peels. I just did a Lactic/Kojik and it worked wonders on my skin. Also, when you peel you should not pick at the skin. Good luck!
i just dont get it you are pretty why go thruw all of these i just dont get it you didn't learn from what happen to you in colombia plizzzzzz i woundnt even think about doing nothing else you are beautiful i don't know what are you trying to accomplish
yeah ure so beautiful. u look pretty even with the damage. i think coloured people have to be careful with peels. like use something mild to start with. but coloured people's acne scars and other scars doesn't look as bad as fairer people's. my acne scars are all really red. and it's terrible.
From what I see it was the wrong peel for your skin type, I deal with ppl of color, and if anything your skin was not condition for a peel, that takes atleast 6 weeks for that, you should have made sure the Doctor that you went too, knows skin of Color!, thats the first step, second step you should have gotten facials from a Aesthetician that knows skin of color, and worked up to your peel, I give them, and I myself get them. Thats why you have the problems.
i 'm a dark skin black man i have had 3 obaji blue peel w/great results but my skin was prep for 3weeks before the peel thats why i always get great results!
So first off coming from a Certified Medical Esthetician You Tube should not be a place for good advice on skin care you should not base a decision on someones video. Darker skinned people CAN have chemical peels but their Fitzpatrick Level skin color should be determined first people with higher Fitzpatrick skin types (Darker skin) should never have a deep peel the first time.
it happens ur face looks like raw meet after words but then it leaves ur skin really nice and fawless my sister ue to get them al da time cuz she had bad acne! it was scarry cuz it looked like someone scraped her face on the floor! but like a few week later it was so pretty!
Hi, I don't know if you did this treatment to keep free of acnes and scars. Just in case, there is a nice proceeding to avoid acnes. Some people are unable to digest meat, milk and chocolate. Cow meat is specifically agressive to their bodies. All of animal proteins, fat, hormones and oils can't be digested well. These substances will running around until stop in the intestine. Nest step is poisoning blood and acnes. Everyone needs to know about this.
@rickyecua I respect your point of view, however I can't follow it. Old doctors used to have a medical knowledge that is different from academic doctors of today. Old doctors are like 'House' character. Reflection. Today is just a matter of medical literature. What is literature? Is just a product of human minds, empirically speaking. There is too much science but not knowledge enough. Information is not knowledge.
@rickyecua talk to old doctors and see how they handle with problems that some academics can't resolve. Acne is product of a internal process, not just cosmetic trouble. Increased by bad alimentation. If you have this problem, add vegetables and a fruit in every meal. Your skin will be more clear in a week or two unless you are constipated. Look for a connection between constipation, heartburn and acne. If you're young and have them frequently, bad food is the guilty.
I tink there are two different catagory's which fit into prime candidates to NOT have this procedure done - no matter how bad your skin seems - and that is lovely coco coloured skin or very, alomost no pigmentation, white skin. After a lot of reading and watching videoes I found that most client had hyper pigmentation and saw next to no change to the problems they were having :[
@watzgoodinthe711 I agree with you, they do work. I am a bit darker than this young lady and I have had jessner peels, which helped with some minor acne scarring and hyperpigmented areas. You HAVE to do your homework and ask questions. Especially for us African Americans, some peels are not recommended for our skin type. But we CAN have peels that are effective.
@pacutie101 which peels arent recommended to us? Im little bit darker than the girl in this video and had 4 Sessions of peel. I think i get marks of it 2 : /
You look to be in your 20's or late 20's. I dont know what qualified person would do this to you, people of color dont usually need a peel . Also I see some pimples ... those needed to be treated first not a peel...it will on agravate them and more discoloration. I suggest a AA dermatologist. Good Luck to you !
@foxgirl100 beauty is relative! If someone (regardless how "beautiful" they feel they are, wants to "tweek" or fix minor issues they have with themselves, I say "more power to ya"...IMO
@foxgirl100 chemical peels are meant to give you more even toned skin, they get rid of things like acne scars and other kinds of scars. They get rid of past sun damage. But obviously they don't always work =/ I'm pretty sure she just wanted to achieve more beautiful and flawless skin.
your doing it all wrong, so yeah you wont get any good results. First of all your skin should be covered with Antibiotic Ointment or just Vaseline the entire 7 to 10days of the peel. that's very important. or your skin is going to scar and cause a skin damage and discoloration. I see you out in your car in the sun, you need to stay indoor that whole 7 to 10days. I know its hard to do that, but if you cant do that then you should not do the peel.
What type of peel was it? Darker skin and ethnic skin should always pre-treat the skin with lightening agents. It is recommended that the skin be pre-treated for 1 month prior and 1 month post peel. Has anyone tried the all natural chemical free green peels like Herbagreenpeel? It uses a marine algae to exfoliate the skin.
what did your face look like before the peel and did it ever begin to look smoother and more normal? If so did you do anything else to it ot did it heal as was told to you?
@skymoon1982 fair to dark what other skin colours are there out side fair to dark lol but i thought Chemical Peel was to help aging you look young if you want help with acne yes laser might be good but look it up lots first
@skymoon1982 that peel was 50% WOW! That is waaaay to high for your skin. If I were you I would sue the person who performed that on you! Most licensed estheticians will have insurance. That hypo-pigmentation that they gave you probably won't ever go away!
@skymoon1982 hmmm.. how many peels did you have exactly? was it an AHA peel? seems like you got the wrong skincare personnel. ive got type IV skin and its perpetually flawless now with weekly treatments of 50% glycolic acid.. =)
@skymoon1982 your are my complexion...and i have a problem with blemishes and acne....i was considering getting a chemical peel....does it really work?...did your skin improve alot?....i have tried everything...and im even changing my diet...to improve my skin....i jus wan clear beautiful skin.....what do you suggest.?
Hun what type chemical peel did she use? Who did this, a physician or some tech at a spa? After viewing your pictures I am disturbed by how there are sporadic scabs & pustules. This IS NOT how skin should look, even immediately after a procedure. No matter what skin type (Ethnic or Caucasian/European) chemical peels done properly can produce EXCELLENT results.
Yes, different skin types (Ethnic & European) require “slightly” different before & after treatment, BUT no matter what skin type PROPER preparation before & treatment after a chemical peel is VERY IMPORTANT. Especially with TCA Peels. I’m dying to know what type of peel this person performed, please reply to this post so we can all know.
FORTUNATELY all that damage can be easily reversed. If you are still suffering the after effects of that peel(discoloration/blemishes/scaring) message me with your current skin condition & I’ll send you a personalized skin care regimen for FREE. You can clear these issues up within 1 month.
If you or anyone else here needs advice before getting a chemical or performing one at home PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR ADVICE! In the mean time download our FREE “Chemical peel Guide” which will tell you everything you need to know about chemical peels & proper procedures.
@HomieFilms Great things! A chemical peel exfoliates skin by loosening the bond between dead skin& healthy/new skin, allowing the old dead skin cells to peel &fall off. Also promotes skin "turn over".Benefits include:diminishes acne& stretch marks, removes acne scaring, removes blemishes, removes wrinkles, evens skin tone, softens & smooths skin. There are a few different types of chemicals peels please download our FREE chemical peel guide to learn more (isis-cosmeceuticals(DOT)com/chempeelguide.pdf)
@HomieFilms Yes! It sure does! I forgot to list that one too. Chemical peels have a lot of benefits for your skin, and diminishing pore size is one of them. Remember to read/download our FREE "Chemical Peel Guide"
@isiscosmeceuticals@homiefilms Pore size won't change with a chemical peel.. laser resurfacing WILL change the size...the chemical peel can clean the pore and make it APPEAR smaller..but if it's large, it's large..your parents probably have large pores as well...
@MarktaviousMusic I made it clear that chemical peels "diminish pore size".Diminishing the appearance of pore size IS one of the benefits of a chemical peel.Let me be even more clear.NOTHING literally shrinks pores. Topical creams, herbs, chem peels & certain lasers either tighten skin or remove layers of dead skin that make large pores appear much smaller(i.e. reducing pore size)
@isiscosmeceuticals my goal was to put him or her on the right track, not to give them the complete theory of lasers..."diminishing pore size" and "diminishing the appearance of pore size" give two totally different IDEAS. Me saying "laser resurfacing" was just like you saying "chemical peel" instead of..Glycolic Chemical peel or Jessner Chemical Peel etc. What I DO KNOW about laser resurfacing is SOME can literally shrinks the gland, thus causing the pore to constrict. :-)
@MarktaviousMusic Not ALL laser procedures are the same. There are different laser procedures to treat specific types of skin issues (I.e tattoos, scar tissue, hyper-pigmentation, wrinkles, etc…). Not ALL laser procedures are appropriate for certain ethnic skin types either
@isiscosmeceuticals furthermore, most laser specialist use the same laser for different things...so a person who comes in for tattoo removal and a person who comes in for resurfacing, maybe be treated with the same laser and get different results based on settings and other things in which I do not have an understanding (yet)..
@MarktaviousMusic If you're going to correct (or really reiterate) someone & suggest something else, like laser surgery. At least name the appropriate laser treatment(s) for said issue. In this case it would be: SmoothBeam, Thermage, Fractional Laser Resurfacing (C02) are to name a few.
@isiscosmeceuticals Lastly, there was no disrespect in my response, just further educating the "client"..my knowledge is not to show off or compete, only to share. Clearly we are both educated on the topic(s), that's obvious. Much success to you, sir! :-D You can send any questions/concerns/comments directly to my inbox...
@trumusicgen do your research. Dont let one persons bad experience deter you. Find a good dermatologist or esthetican (preferably one who has experience with our skin type)
@trumusicgen Chemical peels are amazing if you go to someone who actually knows what they are doing. Make sure to do your homework on your LICENSED esthetician. Ask questions and make sure to see how long they have been doing peels. I am in the process of getting my master Esthetician license in Utah. Usually companies will not sell peels to anyone unlicensed. It is true that you do need to watch what peels you use if you have darker skin. Good luck!

MarktaviousMusic 11 months ago

How much did it cost you to do the face peel thing?
diayang 1 year ago
oh wow. This is a result of one of two things. Either this is the normal healing process of a chemical peel. Or she recieved the wrong kind of peel for her skin type. It is important to do your research before deciding to do a peel because it can severly burn and scar your face.
lilchanchan864 1 year ago
Listen guys! u gotta research on what type of skin rejuvenation ur willing to do, cos theres chemical peels, laser resurfacing but dermabrasion is the most popular for younger people, and its the one with least side effects like skin discoloration which u can get with chemical peels, so dermabrasion is better for all skin types... umm i'm having it done 2moro :) also, no down time, so the results are instant.
EmpressBeauty 1 year ago
@EmpressBeauty i did my research and that hasn't gotten me anywhere in decided if a chemical peel is good for me. I have dark skin and i read many times its risky to do with dark skin but i had a bad reaction to acne medication and i've had hyperpigmentation for over a decade and i just want to get rid of it and exfoliate the top layer but it comes with many possible complications with dark skin....the white people don't have to worry about that but what do i do to resolve this!???
whole27 1 year ago
yailycuba 1 year ago
@whole27 If you still have acne, you must get rid of your acne first because the peel will burn and scar the infected tissue. Isotretinoin is a good acne medication which not only heals the acne but it also renews and "evens" out the skin tone with collagen stimulation. The mistake that many people do, is that they do the chemical peels when their skins are prone to acne because they are eager to get rid of it, and what you get are burns and scars. Continuing....
namihia 1 year ago
@whole27 @namihia some peels help acne, however, dermatologist prescription medications work faster and more effectively..just make sure you're working with someone trained with chemical peels and your skin type (ethnic)..otherwise you may run into some problems...neosporin is definitely not what you want to put on your face afterward, it can worsen the situation, a 30% glycolic should not leave any burns at all unless improperly performed... :-/
MarktaviousMusic 11 months ago
@whole27 For dark skin, you need to apply a much smaller solution, no more than 30% glycolic acid and only on the area with hyper pigmentation. A more effective way and perhaps less sloppy, is the laser, again, concetrated only on the hyperpigmented part. After the treatment i would go with neosporin on the burned areas so that they do not infect.
namihia 1 year ago
@namihia what makes u an expert? Your light skinned! I don't have acne...but i got my hyperpigmentation back in high school from a bad reaction to acne medication...now 12 years later i still have the darker pigment all over my face and want to get rid of it badly! I'm too scared at this point to get chemical peels donw cause dark pigment is so sensitive and can get darker...i can't take that chance....i'll just go pay to talk to a dermatologist
whole27 1 year ago
You need to sue whoever did your procedure because they did it incorrectly. Clearly whoever applied the Peel did not take the proper precautions to test the strength of the peel and pay attention to the time the peel was left on. I have been getting strong peels for quite some time. You are suppose to get a little swelling, some redness, and LITTLE scabbing. You need to change dermatologist immediately.

Even my friends got jealous and went to the same Dermatologist as mine!
sofragile777 1 year ago
My skin always peels after I do a peel. Always! I look like I've had a bad break out for like 3 days. Then it clears up and my skin is beautiful. It's part of the process. Maybe you had a bad reaction, but I've seen people's face look like this before during the scabbing phase. It's definitely not typical.

Jbeach85091 1 year ago

I have seen amazing results and hope you do too!
gijoeswife97 1 year ago
I recently had 2 chemical peels done for cystic acne scars as well as active acne. The esthetician (spelling might be wrong) started out with a 20% peel on the first one and then went to 25%. Both chemical treatments made my face pink at first but faded within 24 hours and then my face began peeling like a sunburn. I will tell you that the stronger the chemical used, the worse the peeling will be but it should only take 2-3 days for your peeling to subside. I have to say, it is working wonders!
gijoeswife97 1 year ago
how much did you pay fo the peel?
VIL388 1 year ago
Good luck!

therapeutics23 1 year ago
From what I see it was the wrong peel for your skin type, I deal with ppl of color, and if anything your skin was not condition for a peel, that takes atleast 6 weeks for that, you should have made sure the Doctor that you went too, knows skin of Color!, thats the first step, second step you should have gotten facials from a Aesthetician that knows skin of color, and worked up to your peel, I give them, and I myself get them. Thats why you have the problems.

@TullioWalker acne has nothing to do with food!!
rickyecua 1 year ago
@rickyecua I respect your point of view, however I can't follow it. Old doctors used to have a medical knowledge that is different from academic doctors of today. Old doctors are like 'House' character. Reflection. Today is just a matter of medical literature. What is literature? Is just a product of human minds, empirically speaking. There is too much science but not knowledge enough. Information is not knowledge.
TullioWalker 1 year ago
@rickyecua talk to old doctors and see how they handle with problems that some academics can't resolve. Acne is product of a internal process, not just cosmetic trouble. Increased by bad alimentation. If you have this problem, add vegetables and a fruit in every meal. Your skin will be more clear in a week or two unless you are constipated. Look for a connection between constipation, heartburn and acne. If you're young and have them frequently, bad food is the guilty.
TullioWalker 1 year ago
I tink there are two different catagory's which fit into prime candidates to NOT have this procedure done - no matter how bad your skin seems - and that is lovely coco coloured skin or very, alomost no pigmentation, white skin. After a lot of reading and watching videoes I found that most client had hyper pigmentation and saw next to no change to the problems they were having :[

You look to be in your 20's or late 20's. I dont know what qualified person would do this to you, people of color dont usually need a peel . pacutie101 1 year ago
@foxgirl100 chemical peels are meant to give you more even toned skin, they get rid of things like acne scars and other kinds of scars. They get rid of past sun damage. But obviously they don't always work =/ I'm pretty sure she just wanted to achieve more beautiful and flawless skin.
neecee401100 1 year ago
your doing it all wrong, so yeah you wont get any good results. I know its hard to do that, but if you cant do that then you should not do the peel.
fitboytx 2 years ago 5
What type of peel was it? Darker skin and ethnic skin should always pre-treat the skin with lightening agents. It is recommended that the skin be pre-treated for 1 month prior and 1 month post peel. Has anyone tried the all natural chemical free green peels like Herbagreenpeel? It uses a marine algae to exfoliate the skin.

Hun what type chemical peel did she use? Who did this, a physician or some tech at a spa? After viewing your pictures I am disturbed by how there are sporadic scabs & pustules. This IS NOT how skin should look, even immediately after a procedure. No matter what skin type (Ethnic or Caucasian/European) chemical peels done properly can produce EXCELLENT results.

what does a chemical peel do?
HomieFilms 1 year ago
@HomieFilms Great things! A chemical peel exfoliates skin by loosening the bond between dead skin& healthy/new skin, allowing the old dead skin cells to peel &fall off. Also promotes skin "turn over".Benefits include:diminishes acne& stretch marks, removes acne scaring, removes blemishes, removes wrinkles, evens skin tone, softens & smooths skin. There are a few different types of chemicals peels please download our FREE chemical peel guide to learn more (isis-cosmeceuticals(DOT)com/chempeelguide.pdf)

@isiscosmeceuticals
does it remove big pores? lol
HomieFilms 1 year ago
@HomieFilms Yes! It sure does! I forgot to list that one too. Chemical peels have a lot of benefits for your skin, and diminishing pore size is one of them. Remember to read/download our FREE "Chemical Peel Guide"
isiscosmeceuticals 1 year ago
@isiscosmeceuticals @homiefilms Pore size won't change with a chemical peel.. laser resurfacing WILL change the size...the chemical peel can clean the pore and make it APPEAR smaller..but if it's large, it's large..your parents probably have large pores as well...
MarktaviousMusic 11 months ago
1 of 3:

@HomieFilms It diminishes large pores. You'd definitely notice a difference.

Good luck!

Black people should NEVER have chemical peels because it can end up leaving you with patchy white spots, there not safe for coloured folk.
