What a wonderful video! Thank you so much sir! I really do appreciate the time and effort you put in to explaining in detail how to do what you were doing. Best of luck!
Shocking to watch his filleting. He has a good luck to have any fingers left! I'll do that under 20 seconds and much more easier. Pin boning was ok otherwise just awful!!
@xXBlackAwpsGawdXx in the states you would be looking at anywhere from 12.99 to 17.99 lb for fresh wild salmon (fileted and boned) depending on breed...Obviously it also depends on your proximity to the coast...
@joshlinke Here in Montana we can still catch them when they come through each year for spawning in some of our reservoirs as well as in some lakes. They sell for around $16 lb.
this is so funny ! lol . i love how u just throw things when your done with them. but im sorry , that is not how you fillet a salmon. you totally hacked it. your knife movements need to be smooth motion. always, and you cant lift the fillet up so much , you pulled it and tared the flesh. you should check the youtube video How- to fillet a salmon. posted by Ancdailynews or something like that. he does a really nice job.
@hellishheavin101 In the U.S. that is correct. But I believe different parts of the world such as England and Australia have a slightly different pronunciation.
@CDubock Nice video. i have a question though. On another video iv seen they seem to mention that your supposed to take the skin off the fish. Is that true
@GhOsTF141 You can, but you don't have to. The skin of several fish, especially salmon, have very delicious skin which, when sauteed the right way, have a great crispy texture (not to mention aesthetically pleasing). If I am not mistaken, people usually skin fillets to gently poach the meat.
iv been looking at vids to get a good way in fillet my salmon this eyar, i got 2 now that i need to fillet and this is the best by far video to show m ehow ot do it best with less waste and the most detail.. thans for this video,, its the best easy hands down lol :)
This is the first video that deals with what we refer to on the West Coast of Canada as the "pin" bones. These are the small bones that angle out 45 degrees from the spine and are left behind by the standard filletting process. Very good video.
Thanks alot im glad you enjoyed it, check out the other fish filleting videos ive done as you like this one, im currently a uni student and any feedback would be greatly appreciated! cheers chris

Say a whole fish weights 3kg, how much actual meat would you get from that?
Cheers

rofl, really amateur job. I fillet Salmon myself, -15 sec for 1 salmon, 75% fillet. This hearts my eyes.

Any reason why the fishmonger used needle nose pliers over tweezers to remove the pin bones?
