This DVD is a great resource for staff training, class room instruction, faculty sensitivity trainings, & post graduate training programs. Keep up the great work Ady and Jill. Bye the way, you should make a discussion guide to accompany the DVD.
I have to say it is only in retrospect that I realize that I felt traumatized and enraged. At the time I felt that while I knew better the other 24 students in the class left Social Work School thinking homosexuality was a mental disorder.
I encountered homophobic, heterosexist bias at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work when I was a student there in the mid-90s. One professor who was a Rabbi stated that homsoexuality was a mental disorder. I pointed out that that was an outdated conceptualization and that the dx was removed from the DSM in 1973. He said that "that was a matter of opinion".
