Hi Alain, Thanks again for your questions, I'm glad to see that these videos are useful. Note that in this example there are only three digital inputs D2..D0. So, I only have the two 2:1 multiplexers because the leftmost flipflop only needs to get data from one source whether it is loading data in parallel, or shifting it out serially. The other two flip flops are the two that need to select the source (either parallel load or serial shifting from the previous flip flop)

SISO and SIPO parts were straightforward but for PISO one
why do we use 2x 2:1 Mux in the middle only?
why not 4x 2:1 Mux because we also have 4 parallel
inputs D0 ... D3 which are to be shifted serially?
