It's funny how many people who like PCs keep giving the lame excuse of "a mac cant play games" while you can go to steam and download a lot of games for mac like Assasins Creed, Counter Strike, Portal, Left for dead, and you can get COD, vice city and modern combat and much more on the apple store.

I guess I'm just trying to understand what's going on with your PC...because my windows 7 performance is flawless. And I don't have a dream machine, it's just a very standard mid range laptop. Obviously, absence of dedicated graphics can make some difference with Windows 7, but also remember that there are almost no applications today that can take advantage of 8GB of ram. You won't see any difference between 4 or 8, not even on a mac. Unless you run a server or do cad drawings.

Apple used to be awesome. Does no one see that apple and pc today are virtually indiscernable from each other besides price? Mac is blowing their money on clever marketing but they've yet to come out with something that is actually.... new? It's like they're stuck in the past when Microsoft was still trying to patch up windows XP. Seriously apple...please show us something real? Haven't seen anything remarkable in a while now...if you can't make anything new, please lower the freaking price tag.

@airforcejim Apple has released several new concepts that Microsoft still hasn't incorporated into their computers. For example, Apple developed multi-touch technology for use in the iPod touch, iPhone, Magic Trackpad, Magic Mouse, and even the trackpads on the new MacBooks and MBP's.

@croc122 first problem with your statement: microsoft doesn't make computers. They make software. They are not an OEM, they are a developer. Secondly, multi-touch has been around forever. My 750 dollar sony vaio has multi touch track pad. It is also used effectively in several other phones and mp3 players. Apple might have been the first to try to make it marketable, but now they are behind at their own game because everyone is now doing it just as well for less money.

I agree, windows went down hill after xp. Vista was awful, 7 was just the same thing with a different name. I personally don't like apple as a company, but they got it right with this.

@ThuSkyline have you ever tried windows 7? I've had zero problems from it. Works smoothly, flawlessly and effieciently. It is simple to use well. I bet you [didn't] try it. I bet you're like most who just looked at how similar the UI looks to Vista at first glance and just assumed that it was the same. But I bet if you actually put some time into it, used it every day, gamed with it, etc. you'd find that it is a night-and-day difference from Vista and it makes XP look prehistoric.

I actually have tried 7. I just really didn't like it. It was much like vista, in my opinion. If you like it, cool. I just didn't personally like it more than XP.

@bushplanned911111111 Your statement is very vague. Could you offer any specifics? Such as, what class is your toshiba? What are the specs(memory/cpu, etc)? Does it have the same hardware as your apple? Did you clean up all of the bloatware that toshiba installs on new machines-- because that is a toshiba problem, not a windows one and can lead people to unfair/unbalanced conclusions about windows. What version of windows 7 are you running? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?

Plus, in most side-by-side comparisons with machines using similar hardware, OS X and Windows 7 are actually nearly consistently identical in performance. I'm going to laugh if you said that your mac is a MBP with a Core i5 and your toshiba is a netbook running windows 7 32bit with 1GB of ram and Intel Atom. There are so many factors that you did not address as to why Windows 7 is definitely slower than OS X. Windows 7 runs lightning fast for me with absolutely not problems, no errors
