  • Conservative= indoctrinal sycophants.

  • thats a jeff beck strat, from hendrix to beck , and this guy and me.

  • I see this guy at The Pentagon alot. I also see him in "the building" at Langley.

He's an expert on stratigic missle defense. He's got an office on Capital Hill.

He a paid DOD consultant & he knows his shit.

    He's also a KILLER guitarist.

  • this is the guy from myth busters

  • Liberal? Conservative? wipe your shitty ass and pull up your pants before you leave the restroom! Wash your hands for good measure... This is music fool not politics there is enough of that crap...on TV...

  • SKUNK!!!! True story: In May, 1973 Steely Dan hired a young 20-something hotshot L.A. session guitarist to lay down some outro trax on their 2nd studio LP, "Countdown To Ecstasy"...his name, Jeff Baxter. Well, Jeff came to The Dan so highly recommended that his nickname at the time was Jeff "One Take" Baxter, but when he played with The Dan that fateful day, he decided to take his shoes off and play...well,long story short, he stunk up the studio so bad he was re-named Jeff Skunk" Baxter.

  • @rowdymax1 Hang on a sec, skunk was with the Dan from Can't Buy a Thrill.

  • I love the Skunk. Onlysaw him 1x and it was w/Doobie's; he was a studio pro on stage too. Sat in a bar stool, headphones on and controlling his own sound.

Great player and I LOVE his politics FWIW.

  • Either you're "bed wetting liberal" or a "right wing fascist nut." Is it possible to be something in between? I don't agree with Skunk's politics either, but I still love his playing and I believe he's a very intelligent guy.

  • See the interview with him titled Jeff Baxter over there>>>>>

    Counterterrorism expert.

  • Apparently, Mr. Baxter is now, or was, a missile defense advisor to the Pentagon. Google these terms:

Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter: From Doobie Brother To Top Missile Defense Adviser

  • is that some song that he starts to play at 0:26? if somebody knows, please tell me

  • holy jesus christ he looks just like that guy from myth busters

  • @turkydust Ain't that the truth brother. Diffrence is I doubt Jamie from Mythbusters is a guitar genius

  • @turkydust

    hahahahahah!

    yes, man!!

  • he was a counterterrorismexpert in vietnam so yes he was in the military

    !

  • lose the beret and moustache pal...you werent in the army i bet..!

  • I wonder if he has ever smoked a joint?

  • hero, guitar on steely dans first album is magical stuff!

  • JamalDOA

Reelin' in The Years was Elliot Randall on the lead, not Skunk.

This guy is the man! So fluid on the guitar..

  • that was sweet...makin that thing sing...

  • Jeff is a Steely Brother or a "Doobie Dan"

I can't decide if i like his workmore w/ the Dan or The Doobie Bros. i love his lead on"Take me in your Arms" (Rock me a little while) man thats a tasty lead.. keep pickin Jeff & whatever else your doin w/ the govt!! we need a diff point of view.

  • the guy on the left looks like he is jelous

  • He must get mass royalties from this tune, this is about the 5th special he's played it in...LOL

  • Hey! It smells like Skunk in here!

  • He's still got it!!!!!!!

  • U can here the steely dan sort of chords in this especially at the end what a guy

  • Totally!. He's adding suspensions to get that majestic sound.

  • reelin in the y ears

  • Jeff Baxter has beautiful melodies!! Awesome!!!

  • it was Gaetano Vinaccia who invented the 6 string jeff... i googled it. im suprised you dont know.

  • i could swear the guitar isn't plugged into anything

  • look again eltreb, its modified

  • nice comps and sound. baxter is a pros pro. I'd like to know what he forgot.

  • i didn't learn anything ...

  • wew...what song is that??

    Can I have the tabs???

  • Where would all decent guitar players be without Jeff Baxter.....Nowhere. My Jaws still droppin' decades after my first Dan experience. His work with the highbrow guys is legendry.

  • very nice!

  • He is such an amazing guitarist.... It busted me up to hear that he was a Republican. Man...

But!! His solos are incredible, and the solo in Bad Sneakers is as perfect a solo as has ever been played, by anyone, at any time.

Um... that was you, right, Jeff?

  • i think it was walter becker who played the bad sneakers solo

  • Indeed it was Becker

  • Don't forget the solo in Rikki. One of the better guitar solos.

  • Why does being a good guitarist have anything to do with political affiliation?

  • Because 26095 is a bed wetting liberal....geeez..i'm a conservative and if i got upset over every libtard in the entertainment industry...well i'd have to live in a cave....Becker and Fagan are socialist crap weasels...but i like their music and don't give a shit what their politics are....i'd prefer them to shut their greasy pie holes and just entertain my ass and collect their millions.

  • I am not sure they are socialists Flinx...just listen to the words of "Only a Fool Would Say That" on the first album. Sounds like an anti-socialist lyric, a lot like the Beatles Revolution.

  • @flinx649 PREACH ON, DUDE!

  • I think it's fucking awesome he's a Republican. It proves some of these guys think for themselves, if they're able.

  • jeff is amazing, so versile, very underrated id say.....

  • Sweet.

  • Fun video --- the lessons behind it are terrific. Really worth the money.
