  • tooo bad you cant really hear the drummer in Botti's CDs.. this drummer is amazing.. he steals the show.. he steals Botti's show.

  • I went to see Chris Botti in concert to see Billy Kilson play drums. I could watch him play drums for hours. What an amazing talent.

  • hey Billy...so nice !...

  • This guy never ceases to amaze me. Seeing he and Chris Botti live was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

  • billy taught me how to play when i was in 5 grade....he'll still the greatest...

  • @footzchoiceband i hope youre still playing! you are so lucky

  • making Billy Kilson play metal would be a crime....

  • Sick watch out for Lil Nick Smith

  • He is amasing

  • This guy is incredibly good....Two thumbs up!!!

  • I saw him in oklahoma city last year he is crazy good. metal would be wasting great talent. AMAZING!!!

  • Is he playing the top AND BOTTOM of the hi hat in the begining?!!!!!

  • Amazing drummer... caught him with Dave Holland... a very funky man.

  • He is the master.

Him playing metal would be a terrible waste of his talent, though.

  • imagine this guy playing metal....

    woot!

  • <--- refer to my username!

  • nah. that's nothing. I got 10 arms and 5 legs.

  • Billy Kilson is the best drummer I've ever seen live. I got to see him with Chris Botti May 30th this year. He's got some serious style. He always chews gum by the way. Absolutely amazing.

  • ho, ho, ho, hooolyyy shiiiiit he's amazing

  • What a beast! My gaaaawd!!!

  • Preach!

  • damn !! He's a real motherf*cker ..

  • single bass is all he needs

  • MAN !!!!!!!

  • Fantastic Mr. Hi-Hat work! One helluva player!

  • i saw him playing with Donald Brown and Bill Mobley at Jazz a Vienne in July in France. At first i was sceptic cause i mean all i usually listen to i metal but this guy is one of the freakin best. Better than any rock or metal drummer to my opinion

  • I saw him in person! it was unbelievable!

  • hahah those poor cymbals :(

  • poor snare,

    floor tom,

    hi hat

    ect

    hahaha

  • wow. i saw this on tv. amazing.

  • Saw him do a show on Tuesday at Suffolk Community College in NY.... he killed it. But what do college kids know about good jazz.

  • "But what do college kids know about good jazz." One more reason to let him play more often in front of "college kids"!

  • they probably made no mistake about what good jazz is after seeing that show, either that or they are brain dead (not so far fetched :P

  • Please stop comapring drummers with regards to who's better and who's not. I think that you can't reduce a kind of playing to such a simple criterion. There are differences in accuracy, speed, the complexity of the patterns, the energy they put into their playing and more important their feel. Those criteria add to a drummer's individual style. And the most important question is how well the drummer is able to adapt to the music that's being played.

  • @Kerouac70 VERY WELL PUT!!!!!! SO TIRED OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW ANYTHING OF DRUMMING LINIAGE, STYLES AND CHANGE!! ALWAYS HAVE THE BIGGEST MOUTHS!! AND THEY ALL LOVE THE FIRST METAL DRUMMER THEY EVER HEARD, AND WON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE ELSE!!! FOOLS ...THIS GUY COULD PLAY ANY STYLE!!!! LOOK AT THE CHOPS!!!!! LISTEN!!!!

  • Saw the Hollywood Bowl show a couple of weeks ago. Billy had the audience completely mesmerized, it was just awesome.

  • I would say it's between kilson and nate smith for best there is

  • Went to see larry carlton at the blue note NYC a few years back. Kilson was playing with him. Larry introduced him as an East Coast style of drummer, with a chuckle. He was incredible. I have admired Elvin, Lenny white, Cobham, tony, etc.....but this dude, whew! What a joy to watch.

  • Amen, hipdrummer, Elvin is Elvin, Billy is Billy, Tony is Tony, Antonio is Antonio, ad. infinitum. All a slightly and oh so tasty fruit.

  • Summelduple: Welcome to the 21st century! Elvin Jones and Tony Williams were the best of their era. Billy Kilson can do everything that they were doing, and much more, and it looks easy. He can play swing, funk, rock, etc. I saw him three times with the Dave Holland Quintet/Big band, and I can guarantee that not a single drummer, past or present, can play the drums like this guy.

  • I would normally agree with you patent until I saw the great Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny's drummer) YIKES - he stands behind no one

  • Billy is great.

    Original or not, who cares?

This man's got fire up his ass, haha...

  • He's nothing like the next Elvin Jones! I admit Billy is pretty awesome, but Elvin was really....just something else. Billy Kilson is good but not nearly as original as someone like Tony or Elvin.

  • I thought he was going to break a drum stick! He usually does!

  • Botti live is a GREAT SHOW Botti himself plays similar solos but Kilson is insane

  • Elvin is Elvin. Billy is Billy.

  • dude prolly goes throguh cymbals like crazy whompin on em so hard hahaha.

billy is awesome, I'd love to see Botti live just to watch him. Hes like the next Elvin Jones.
