  • Shes pretty

  • That's right because a Woman make the Man they think they know it all but we end up teaching them a heck of a lot in the end! :)

  • Comment removed

  • This was obviously written by a man.

  • she's sure dressed like a woman

  • "How lovely was that song

  • 16 years old. Still had acne what the heck is she talking about.

  • I like her date clothes

  • I like her date clothes...

  • She has great legs...just sayin'

    .

  • Why are her pants in her matress????

  • @Samizon890 Probably because at this time it wasn't proper for women, especially younger ones, to wear pants. They normally wore skirts and dresses.

  • check out my cover of this song and a few of my other vids please! :D

  • Also, is this from the movie? I havent seen it so I wouldn't know

  • @TheWhisper365 Bye Bye Birdie.

  • I dont get it, why did she change looking like a girl to a guy? Granted, I never saw it coming. When take off everything so it looked like she was only wearing the sweatshirt. I thought, "Hugo's gonna get some!" Then she puts her hair up and in a hat with the hat sideways making her look like a guy... I dont get that part

  • SHUT UP AND SHOW ME YOUR TITS

  • Can I have her closet?

  • She says she's so happy to be a woman....

And then dresses herself up like a boy? : /

  • @SprinklesOnSyrup Thats the point of the song :D

  • @SprinklesOnSyrup My dear friend you have just discovered the meaning of irony.

  • keeping her jeans under the mattress?

  • @alisondowns someone said its so they can be flat ...no wrinkles?

  • All of this in just two takes!

  • It kills me how much they changed the songs in the movie compared to the musical... I mean honestly..... We did Bye Bye Birdie for my school production last year and it didn't come out like the movie, more like the musical.. I think it should have stayed a bit more true to the musical personally...

  • TAVI SENT ME

  • pages/I-am-woman-How-Lovely-To-Be-A-Woman-/160916450665824 On facebook

  • I'd like to see her sing that on her period :|

  • @addie2400 GOOD LUCK!

  • Margaret is far too old... see the first episodes of Mad Men.

  • It really bothers me how the heal of her sock isn't on her heal...

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx

hahahaha me too!!! it gets to me EVERYTIME i watch it!

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx Thank God I'm not the only one...xD

  • @BeautifullyTragicxx it really bothers me that you spelled "heel" as "heal"

  • I want to be able to sing this perfectly.

  • @addie2400 good luck!

  • I really love this song. Trying out for Kim. Wish me luck!:)

  • "How lovely to have a figure that's round instead of flat"

    ...my has always been round..

but not in a good way. :S

  • @KikyoChanXD I feel the same! Hah:)

  • Oh wow, you went from 15 to 16!?

MY GOD, YOU'RE SO OLD NOW!

    >_>'

  • Being a woman is great and this was my first musical! Love you Ann Margret!

  • her voice would sound so romantic if she spoke french all the time~! x3 love this movie, and i saw it only once when i was 8!

  • Yall need to grow up.... its a movie and this is a great song and ur stupid if u think its stupid

  • @HoldenCarrell You need to grow up and learn how to spell correctly.

  • who wear's a sweater like that?

  • if it's so lovely to be a woman, why is she putting on mens clothing?

  • @meagisamazingbro That's the irony of it. She's still a young girl, her dressing like that is sowing that.

  • @meagisamazingbro *showing

  • THIS VIDEO MADE ME A MAN

  • @blacksushi150 HAHA.......the BEST comment I have ever read !!-

  • Strangely this song reminds me of the song Honor to us all from the movie Mulan

  • As an awkward loner, this was the most embarassing song I ever had to audition with in high school... But I nailed it.

  • Can't believe anyone would mock this song. The song is cute and Ann Margaret has to be the most beautiful women of the 60's.She looks like a real person. No fake bobs etc. And she doesn't dress like a whore. To top it all off she can actually sing!

  • Any of you young drag queens and transvestites who know whats good for you would have mastered an impersonation of this by now: which of course would be YOU doing a young Ann Margaret doing Kim McAfee singing "HLTBAW" in the scene from "BBB"

  • At first, I didn't get why she dressed the way that she did, but I think the reason why, was because the song is about her being a woman, and acting all grown up, when she's really still just a kid. So when she puts on the clothes, it represents how she is a kid, but singing about being a woman.

  • 'Your sixteen...and your skin is smooth and clear...'

I'm twenty and I still get pimples. Lucky little bitch. And also she has screen presense and can sing, etc etc etc.

  • Wow wait till her period hit then the song'll be called "How I wish to not be a woman"

  • HER SOCKS IRK ME! FIX THEM!!!!

  • she keeps her jeans under her mattress...?

  • im 14 andhave no braces!never did never will. take THAT Jenny McAfee!!!

  • @quisengprincess *Kim McAfee

  • @quisengprincess KIM! KIM MCAFEE. Jenny McAfee is the main character of the "How I Survived Middle School Series." Geez. Get your characters straight.

  • @quisengprincess its kim.. not jenny

  • who changes like that? puts a sweater on then wiggles out of her clothes......

  • @ppnplovesu It's a MOVIE, from heaven's sake! Get a clue!

  • How much you wanna bet that a guy wrote this song?

  • i like her socks:D

  • shes amazing

  • such a lie..................

  • For some reason I really like this song... lol :p

  • Why is she putting on boys cloths for a date? And why in the world are her jeans under her mattress???

  • @lyamainu wellllll maybe its supposed 2 b ironic. that shes all yay im a women yahootie iluvvv this then puts on jeans and a sweater. or shes got a weird fashion sense. and the jeans......................dnt hve an answer for tht :)

  • @lyamainu her jeans were under the mattress because girls weren't supposed to wear jeans back then, and she probably wasn't allowed to have them...

  • @BrittandChez She clearly wears them in front of her parents.

  • she looks more like a 20 year old women as opposed to a teenager,

  • @supasta3 she was actually 22 during flming.

  • I saw a school production of this show and loved it, but now this song makes me think of that commercial that was playing all the time for a while...you know the one? O.o It had a nice little version of the song too. xD

  • i dont think she's really 16 there (real life)

  • did girls really wear that kind of boyish clothes in the 60s?

  • @dracosgirl527 ikr its soooooo strange

  • I find it funny how she's singing about how great it is to be a woman, yet she's changing from a girly outfit to a guyish outfit.

  • @Dracosgirl547 That's part of what can be great about being a woman--dressing like a tomboy! ^_^

  • hehehe 2:31

  • I don't think any 16 year olds actually feel this way in the real world. XD

  • @DuckLuv22

    she is 22

  • @DuckLuv22 I sure do <3

  • @DuckLuv22 I do xD

  • I noticed that what she wears with the jeans and jumper is usually what girls wear now

  • Lighten up, everybody! This is a cute (and hot!) scene!

  • @bubbles1547 i use to think the same thing, until i notice that she actually got up and carried it over and set it down on the table.

  • im singing this for my schools solofestival(: i ABSOLUTELY LOVE this moviee!(:

  • Oh why thank youu- things are quite a bit clearer now...

  • the doll on the chair scares me!

  • What I want to know is a girl from the 1960s has her boyfriend's clothes stashed in her closet...

  • @Awsumgrl96 Acctually those arnt her BF, they just started to go steady in the movie, those are hers. I just cant remember where she was going in them.

  • those socks don't fit

  • @sillyhp17000 I know right. I sometimes hate what comes with the softer features and boobs. In fact, I always hate it.

  • @syrens3 I didn't even get boobs. Ughhh -_-

  • Ha. It's amazing how wonderful she makes womanhood sound... *stares off and wishes it was true*

  • @sillyhp17000 She should say that this is what being a woman is like when ure a young, pretty woman. ^^ Unfortunately we girls ages and then life wont be so fun anymore >.< so women must enjoy the youth

  • i thinki prefer allie trimm singing this

  • I wish I had her hair... and her face... and her voice.... and her figure... and her eyes....

  • She was and is still a beauty. An Amazing talent . she put a smile on the faces of a whole generation and the troops in viet nam know she was a very respectful and beautiful enchantress entertaining the troops in the very dangerous areas during war. Thank you Ann-Margret for being a true selfless human being. The men of war and a natyion remembers and appreciates you

  • Ahhh, yet another fabulous addition for my "Music for Crossdressing" playlist, or shall I say: playlitht ! Aww, heck, why not then: "Muthic For Crothdrething" !

That'th it!: My Muthic for Crothdrething Playlitht!

  • i like how being a woman apparently includes dressing like a color bling toddler

  • @robyfrogeth I think she was going for more of a "masculine" look

  • were doing this play at my school right now...and the girl who plays kim is way better in this song....just sayin:)

  • Ann Margret wishing for "a figure that's round instead of flat?!"

  • @RepublicTX They were different standards for women and beauty back then. The curvy and natural figure was in then instead of the waify or skeletal thin bodies with plastic tits like today.

  • @markko17 yeah. I'm thinkin they did.

  • I'm trying out for the role of Kim at the local high school, but they keep calling the cops and throwing me out. I'm a 63 year old man but I look 59. If I can make bail before the auditions are over do you think I have a chance?

  • @02201217 kEEP TRYING DREAM YOUR DREAM

  • @02201217 You need to be taken to a mental home.

  • @02201217 NIIIICE!!!!

  • @02201217 It's all in how you apply your base....

  • Yesterday was my school performance, IT WAS 20 TIMES BETTER!!!!! haha, just sayin ;)

  • im trying out for bye bye birdie at my school and this is the song i have to sing. do u guys think i can do it? :)

  • THE FLINSTONES!! 0:36

  • yep. gender is that simple. thank god.

  • Lovin the flintstone models on the old radio when she's singin! lol!

  • ironic, when I see her singin, "how lovely to be a woman" and is trying on boys clothes!

  • @FrauVonSinnfrei thats kinda the whole point

  • ...sigh...I wish I had retro stuff like that in my room... :\

  • Let me hear her say this when she's on her period.

  • @torosanwo lol totally agree

  • @torosanwo This was back in the '60s. Women didn't get periods then.

  • @torosanwo HA! hilarious!

  • @torosanwo You have to remember, this was written by men in the 60's.

  • @marly100 hahaha, I certainly did not think about that...*sarcasm*. I don't think that fact makes it any less ridiculous. :)

  • @torosanwo Of course not, but at the end, we all have to stop taking everything so seriously and enjoy this completly ridiculous movie, lol.

  • @marly100 1. I did enjoy this movie! 2. I am not taking this seriously at all. Please don't take my comment seriously. I'm not sure if you missed the subtle nuances, but I was attempting to be funny. :D

  • @torosanwo I'm sorry I didn't get. But it would really funny to have a musical about getting periods. :)

  • @torosanwo Bwahaha!

  • wow she has nice legs lol

  • Cool my school is having a musical play of this movie thing i might be working back stage :D a

  • alright, I've never seen this movie..now WHY is she dressing in boys clothes?

  • I love this musical! I tried out for it last week and find out if I am in it or not in 4 days! I am so excited :)

  • i do exactly the same thing when i get home from school...minus the high notes.

  • can you imagine NOT staying out after ten? So retro lol :) love her hair as well!!!

  • Wait, is she supposed to be sixteen? Well then, where's my HAIR that is like hers?? And the smooth skin?

  • u want her hair?! i want her body! shes like mad skinny!

  • Ann has an undeniable naughtiness to her face and at the same time she's so sweet and lovely, I have a huge crush on her.

  • i wanna know how she does her hair ):

  • homewrecking SHREW!

  • ---that happy grown-up feeeeeeeemale feeling ! lol

  • check out all that awesome vintage stuff

  • Q: What to feel like a woman?

    A: Get a Job

  • the way every girl feels when she turns sixteen. ahh. the good old days. :)

  • well at least she sings better here than she did in "Tommy"

  • @IwillKillYourCereal we don't appear to be an ann-margret fan.

    rationalize as you will.

  • @Hankleberg I think that she's pretty and a decent actress; it's just her singing that I can't stand lol

  • @IwillKillYourCereal fair enough. Her best singing was probably in Viva Las Vegas along side Elvis; he brought out the best in her. Or atleast, I'd image he did...

  • Honey, a woman does not dress like that *snap* *snap* *snap*

  • @ManiactheLunatic its supposed to be ironic

  • I'm 16 and I just got braces.... :(

  • @AventuraLuver

At least you got them while you're young. Get it done and out of the way. Lol. :)

  • I don't get the jeans under er matress haha

  • @auburngirlash247 i think it is to either hide them from her mother or to keep them like crisp and stiff im not completely positive

  • im auditioning for bye bye birdie on august 7......and i realllllllllly want kim . im only 13 though. if i already look older and im a soprano, does anybody think i have a chance? please be honest!

  • @pinkkloe97 so am i..But im auditioning August 3rd..
