  • maravillosa !

  • Paul this is great! Thank you!

  • Definitely professional quality Well done!!

  • sounds like early Tomita but with less detailing, still good though

  • mad sounds but it makes a real change from the mass produced guff thats all around us now, keeps it up, we need more like this!

  • really good, I haven't heard anything like this before, brilliant !

  • 이런 어리석은 동영상은 볼 수가 할 수 없다.

  • Awesome! Cool to find someone doing this!

    Do you have more?

  • @nemirn

Yes, more are on the way and with a new studio setup I think they should be quite interesting :-)

  • Huge props for even attempting this. It seems to lake a certain depth that Tomita's sound did, but that's being critical.

    Very impressive effort.

  • That was then 10 years ago, if i did this again now it would be very different, If I get the time I might well do

  • The full title of this piece is I believe "Danses Sacrée et Profane". This is really good. Did you use a Moog synth? At one point it sounded like a Kurzweil run through an echo machine (Binson Echorec?) much like Rick Wright did on the song "Echoes".

  • Thanks, this was all done about 10 years ago on a Roland JV1080, Yamaha AN35, Boss SE70 effects and some other bits which i cant remember right now. Couldn't afford a Moog back then but now I am just about to start using a modular system

  • @DannyNewman The title is "Tarantelle Styrienne", later republished as "Danse" (for piano, orchestrated by Maurice Ravel). "Danse sacrée et danse profane" is a different piece (for harp and strings).

  • I do miss the space-echoes and typical left to right panning of some sounds. The higher frequencies as well as the use of filter modulation is more moderate than what i'm accustomed to hear from Tomita.

Other than that ;-) wonderfull adaptation!

  • Thankyou Hyper5nic, yes the sounds on this track are more sonically restrained because of the equipement I had to make about 10 years ago.

I have been upgrading my soft studio and finding new ways to make the arrangements and its starting to come together much more.

I still use Tomita as my measure and I would hope that I might one day be able make music as well as he did, i dont wish to copy him as that would not be right, I just want to make my interpretations as sonically exciting as i can.

  • I came to this link expecting nothing.

Wow ! This made my day a better day !

It's nice to let your hair down once in awhile ( if I had any . . . . )

    Thank you for the post.

  • never came across anything like it, pure awesome...

  • brilliant!

  • That's great. Just wonderful. Mr Tomita, I hope would very much approve.

  • Hats off. Great!

  • Very nice, my friend. Thanks for sharing.

  • As someone who listens to Isao's Snowflakes album on a regular basis, I can honestly say that you have emulated the style perfectly. Kudos!

  • this is soooo epic

  • Maravilloso!

  • Brilliant nearly as good as the master himself. I am very impressed.

  • you certainly have captured the sound my friend .

  • Thankyou Trichoone, you comments are much appreciated and all the more so from a dedicated fellow Tomita fan.

  • You sir, are amazing.
