  • HI your New Yorker looks awesome with the color combination, the wire wheels and the air horns for the optional (factory) air condition. I guess your combo (/w RHD) is very rare. I like the dark blue metallic as well.

The 1955 Chrysler had a 331 HEMI. The 354 was 1956 only and from 1957 a rised deck 392 HEMI was used.

The advantage of a 12V system is that the current is half at the same power. Chrysler said that a cold start during winter season is no more issue (/w 12V).

yeah i found that the 6v battery used to lose alot of charge just to start such a huge engine and then teh generator took along time to recharge it, in teh old days short drives werent teh best for the battery.

It wasnt easy to convert though as all the gauges etc have to remain 6volt.

Thanks for your comments, its an awesome car to own and drive.

  • Wow what a wonderful New Yorker! Thanks a lot for sharing. It looks wonderful.

    Kind regards

hey if you want to see more of this car check it out here on cardomain, go to the new-yorkers and you'll find it there

  • This is amazing, the car is right hand drive!! My dad drove a 1955 New Yorker from new for about five years. I hope this car is good to you.

  • @itsmegp46

Thanks! his one would have been 6volt which was alittle bit of a pain but otherwise great cars!

  • @LSIVFD You mentioned 6 volts, that is correct. I've never quite understood the advantage of switching to 12 volts or why a 6 volt system is problematic. If someone would explain it to me as if I were 10 years old, it would be greatly appreciated.

  • I have the same car with a 331 hemi engine........what size engine does yours have?

  • @BandidoNunez

hey this one is a 354ci with a warm cam
