That is what military protocol dictates when speaking to a female civilian politician -- just as the same protocol dictates that the general address Boxer's male colleagues as "Sir", which he did.

It will be Vietnam all over again. The leftists have convinced themselves that winning in Afghanistan is impossible and pointless. Just like they did in Iraq. They actually want to surrender to the 10,000~ poorly equipped and trained taliban we're fighting. Even though only 5% of Afghans support the talibam.

85% of Afghan citizens support Coalition forces. They want us there to help them to develope and to protect them from the islamofacist taliban who are FOREIGN invaders (mostly from Pakistan). McChrystal and Petraeus are brilliant military commanders who know how to win a counter-insurgency in Afghanistan. Just like they clearly proved in Iraq. All they need is the resources to carry out their strategy. We had this debate before on Iraq and the left was proven wrong and we were proven right.
