  • Great review! Terrific film!

  • @dillian100 Thanks!

  • watched it, loved it and looking back at it, it does get better.

  • I hear a lot of people complaining about the pace of Korean films, and I can understand. Personally I really don't mind it and my theory is that its a cultural thing. Anyways, I like to watch Korean movies as I read books. A lot of times the first half of the book is really slow and meanders and picks up faster as the book progresses haha. You seem to like Korean movies; have you checked out JSA? Its Park Chan Wook's debut film and its a police procedural type film. You should def check it out.

  • I do think a few Korean films have some pacing issues but there are some that I think don't. For example I really loved Mother(also by Joon-Ho Bong who Directed Memories Of Murder) and I liked it even more than Memories Of Murder. I also really like Oldboy and Thrist(The only 2 Chan Wook films I've seen). I've been meaning to check out JSA so I will soon thanks!

  • I find the first half of the film downright hilarious with its high-flying slapstick jokes. The jokes are so Korean it might not have translated well to the western audiences. The scene I remember the most beside the haunting ending is when two women walk across each other and we see the p.o.v of the murderer choosing which one to kill. It's uncomfortably disturbing but admittedly thrilling and entertaining in a sense. What an evil shot yet ingenious in its craftsmanship. Great film.

  • Yeah I found a few parts of the first half somewhat humorous but I think I fall into the western audience not getting it category. That scene was great!

  • Havent seen this. great review mate

  • Thanks. It's pretty good

  • MEMORIES OF MURDER is a terrific little movie! Song Kang Ho is a favorite actor of mine.

  • Yeah it's pretty good! I've only seen Song Kang Ho in two films but liked him in both(this and The Host)

  • He's also in THIRST and THE GOOD THE BAD THE WEIRD, which is also a really fun Western.

  • I knew he was in Thrist and I've been dying to see it. It never came out around where I live though. I've heard of THE GOOD THE BAD THE WEIRD and I want to see that to. Thanks
