its normally done with plum wine, you drop them in a bowl of it - leave for 20 - 40 minutes then take them out and grill/bbq/braai them - or you can cook them in the plum wine as well if you want.....

Looks good, but too bad you have to basically burn them alive...I guess it is no different than an oyster or clam though.
