Any film like "inherit the wind" that comes attached with the tags "base upon" or "inspired" by true events, should be regarded as historical fiction, Its a dishonest concealed way of playing to the ignorance of the audience in how film is marketed , while at the same time covering their asses in court.
The creators of inherit the wind could have made the same film with its anti-McCarthyism message without the dishonesty of trying to wrap it around a real event.
Wow! I cannot believe that anyone in the entertainment world is interested in a realistic portrayal of an historical event, but here finally is what appears to be a realistic, authentic offering of a trial which, until this film, has been spun by the ACLU, the film "Inherit the Wind," and others.
It may go straight to DVD; exploration of a theatrical release is still ongoing. Either way, there should be some news in the next 30 days or so, hopefully.
I think this went straight to video, but I can't find it anywhere either. I was at this too, filmed in a couple of scenes at Huckleberry Railroad in Flint. What the heck?
I can't wait until this is released! I don't know why they don't show a release date though. Poster: done. Post production: done. What's the hold up? Does anybody know if they are just distributing through DVD or theater first? Hope theater first so I can see my son (just an extra) on the big screen! LOL.
@0192random: congrats on your friend being in here too.
