  • Lets see the Sparky Lyell style. Rollover from a complete stop.

  • Thx this helped I'm still the champion because of the aerial shots but this will come in use and I meant that im the champion at my school

  • I have a Tornado Cyclone at my house (best purchase ever), and I have seen the padded handles in the local foosball bar, but I was wondering what you would recommend as far as padding goes. I wouldn't want to try any of these snake shots without padding (ouch), so thanks in advance.

  • @killerskillet I would recommend TTR Masterwraps. Or you can buy some tennis wraps.

  • just bought g2000, gonna practice this. thanks for the tutorial buddy,

  • rollover in my opinion should be forbidden ...

  • Espero q hable espanol.pero gracias por subir tus videos estan muy bien explicados y e aprendido mucho viendolos.

  • might be legal by the rules, but the rollover is considered bullshit in my circles.

  • @letmepointout Whatever rocks your boat.

  • what is this table called? what model? :)

  • @Azziboy That was a Cyclone II model of the Tornado table. In more recent videos, I use the Tornado T-3000 (non-coinup).

  • Frederic Collignon learn it in 2 weeks!!! XD

  • Very nice tutorial!! good filming and explanation, can't wait to watch your other videos...

  • Zeke has gotta be a cyborg with foosball software programmed into him. That sorta dexterity is hard to comprehend. I think you need to get a high speed camera so pleebs like me can see it better.

  • Amazing control :D

  • dude that was awesome...

  • how u go so good?

and how much is a babyfoot table??

  • ur aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooome

  • man ur good

  • wtf 3 guardians?

  • wtf 3 guardians?

  • how long does it take to get that good?

  • @speedstakerguy It's a loaded question. If you mean how long does it take to get a Snake shot that is that good, then I would say that it takes a long time (years). You can learn to shoot it in a few months, but it takes time to perfect it. It also takes a lot of experience to learn to shoot it effectively against different defenses.

  • @speedstakerguy 2 years 1 hour a day

  • Hey like the shot tried it some times but when it comes to shoting with the rigth hand nothing works. Long ago when i was smaler i was as good as with my left hand. But one day i broke my radius and my Ulna close to my wrist since that day I lost all force i could but it a shot and all ball control is gone.Atm im shoting goals with the goaly or with the 5 bars. And if im not playing double i mostly lose.

If you can help would be cool cause it hurts losing in the club im going with my friends.

  • @B3lz3bubxxxx It hurts my pocket because our rules are who loses to 0 has to give the winner/s a beer.

  • there is contact before there is a full 360..which is not a 360....

or maybe you just can't block it ...hmmmmmmmm?

    good tutorial...

  • 360 turn is not allowed..

  • @Dudefish420 Read the top comments.

  • @Dudefish420

Right, 360 before contact, or 360 after contact. this is legal.

  • @Dudefish420 I didnt know that rule. I recently started playing pro and yeah they can do a 359 degree turn. I dont like it either because i do this shot at same speed without turning :P

  • I watched your shots here. They are rotating over 360 degrees, which means they are not legal. You are starting at a forward 45 degree angle, and after hitting the ball your man is going beyond that 45 degrees, and often goes beyond 90.

  • @ouchymagoo Maybe not legal by your home rules. However, in professional foosball they are legal. In short, you cannot spin more than 360 before hitting the ball, and 360 after. Google "ITSF rules"

  • @zekefooser Ah, yes. I didn't know about the 360 after. That's a full 720. You'd have to start at your elbow for that. Haha. It's kind of a weak rule, I'd say. That would be like allowing a super hero to play pro soccer and do 720 kicks at like 300 miles per hour.

  • why are there 3 people at the goal?

  • @ubisoft5126 That's the style of this table. It has a flat surface (no ramps). So the extra man are used to get the ball out of the corners. Some tables have ramps so there is no need for the extra man.

  • @zekefooser our table has no ramps and no 3 at the goals,.. ^^

so that's why all the dead balls appear

  • i have one little question. nothing about the snake though. I play in my campus and there is a rule saying that the middle foosers (5 players in the middle row/5bar) can not score. and that the goal keeper can not score. is that an actual rule? sorry im still very new to this.

  • seen nokia commercial ? if not go for it and afterso just star living your life word of wisdom from UK

  • I'm sure no one plays against you on this game

  • dude your amazing! i was wondering what i should do... i kind of have a really crappy table and want to wait till christmas to get a new one(for my parents sake) its hard to practice because the wood holding the ball up bends down in the middle so its almost like theres ramps on the sides (other words i cant keep the ball still) any suggestions? anyway thanks for posting your vids there awesome!

  • @odie798

Get a tornado. A new one is up to 2k, but people win them at tournaments and sell them, In my town, VVS runs the foosball leagues and regularly sells used table. You can get a decent one for 400 or 500 probably if there's a local foosball following.

  • @SeymourCorey alright thanks i looked them up on ebay and found some pretty good ones so thanks

  • Who else here thought he was gonna make one of the plastic figurines do a snake?

  • what do you mean by the term 'shooting inside holes'?

  • @MitchKid432

The goal can basicaly fit 5 foosballs in side-by-side. Picture that as 5 hole you can shoot at. 2 and 4 would be the inside holes, 3 being the middle.

  • i guess you cant turn in football can you you can shoot but not spinn around ;)

  • I like the music

    the song?

  • @Garone1998 It's a tune that comes with the video editing software I use. Don't know the name of the song.

  • I generally hit a pullshot (with 7 holes, each around 95% execution rate in practice), but I've been working my snake as a secondary. So far, my standstill offers tons more consistency (maybe 80% or so), with a deadbar pullside, a nice squared push, and the traditional middle, plus 3/4 middles both direction (though these have a lower execution rate, maybe 60-65%), but I'm having trouble with the 1/4 & 3/4 cuts; any advice? I was thinking of trying a short, spray motion...?

  • i play at pacific mall and teamplay in markham toronto and mid's and uglys arent alowed either. In my opinion shooting with the middle guys is so stupid. It shows no class and no skill. Id rather pass the ball to the more capable 3 guys and doing a fast 3-2. but thats just my opinion

  • you cant go over 360 degrees after contact

  • I thought in professional foosball you weren't allowed to flip the guy to kick or is that if you do it ridiculously buy swooping your hand?

  • great tutorial !

  • What's the difference between a front or Euro PIN and a snake?

  • With the euro/front pin you hold the handle with an open hand (palm) grip. While the snake shot is done using the wrist on the handle. Also the snake shot spins around a full rotation to hit the ball, while in the front pin the man pinning the ball comes behind the ball before impact (does not rotate around).

  • LOl we got some stupid rules in UofT ECE campus where mid-shots, fluke, and touch (when a ball slightly touches any of the player) doesn;t not count as goal.~is lame since i'm best at controling+shooting at mid~but not as good at front rod @.@.

  • @changyujung9 at our school if you loose 10-0 u need to pass under the table

  • nice tutorial, ty a lot. Btw i wana ask sth that in real turnament are mid-shots goal allowable?

  • Yes they are allowed. You can score a goal from any rod.

  • What rules are these? Scoring from centre is cheap!

  • freak^^

  • hey. i've been playing for almost a year now and i still haven't perfected my snake shot. i can go to the last hole on the push side but for my pull is much harder to hit. i keep hitting the stopper against the wall which makes me spray the ball. any tips you can give? thanks.

  • do telescopic rods make a difference?

  • The weight of the rods can make a difference. Some people shoot this shot on a bonzini table which has telescopic rods, but I dont think it has the same flexibility as on a tornado table. The ball can affect the effectiveness of this shot as well.

  • hi mate, i just got a foosball table and there is no control whatsoever, are these rubber balls? MY foosball table came with plastic balls and are damn hard to grip and slide right out of the players feet, i cant even pass the ball without the ball veering offtrack , where can i get the balls u use? i tried ebay but nothing good, same old cheap chinese stuff

  • Question: I have a FABI and i'm just learning the snake. I can pull it off every so often but I was wondering if its easier on the Tornado.

Also, when I do pull it off its usually the push side, I have trouble with the pull side. When I am able to do pull side its usually from a stand still, I have trouble doing it when I rock the ball....any tips? thx.

  • I have a question, does your standing position/stance affect your snake shots?

  • Yes, it can definitely affect. So you want to develop a stance that feels good and which allows you to shoot all options.

  • I was wondering.

Why do you always see players using their wrist when doing the snake?

Is it because of some fear of rule violation or just a tool to control it better?

  • A front pin shot done with the wrist is called the snake shot or rollover. You use the wrist for speed and ability to go to either side. You can do a standard front pin shot with an open hand grip (also called the Euro pin) but it's a lot more difficult to do on the Tornado table.

  • Yea, im aware of the difference between those two shots.

But normally when i do the snake shot / rollover, i don't use my wrist, simply because it's almost impossible for me to control it propperly, and on most tables i play at, the rods aren't smooth enough for me to have enough power using the wrist only.

Instead tho, i use a different grib (don't know whether it has a name or not).

but the question was actually why using the wrist instead of any other grib when rolling over?

  • And to that account, i have no problem having both speed and taking it both sides without using the wrist.

So i really wondered, whether it would be worth trying to learn the wrist grip, or just pratice and improve my own "under-grib" style?

  • hey zeke , i always play foosball ,,, i can do seven but snake shot i cant do so much ... i always didnt hit the ball eventhough i did the right prosedure .. do u know wats wrong ? i need 2 ur experience fast caz got tourney comin up ! pls reply ! THX

  • nice i just learned the snake shot recently at my school and now nobody can beat me haha :)

  • @iodeei Same here man! Now im practising the aeriel shot, ive won all the school tournaments.

  • MESSAGE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thx

  • finally a decent video on this thank you!

  • dude ur really good

  • thats the exact table we have at our school... highly recommended its a great table

  • How much is that table?

  • That was a Tornado Cyclone II. Costs around $1000 dollars new. The Tornado T-3000 costs around $1600 new. You can always buy a used tornado table for a much cheaper cost.

  • How much will a used table cost?

  • Great stuff Zeke. Thanks.

  • nice video

  • great ball handling

  • Good video!:)

  • I love tornado foosball tables

  • Dude can i know what brand of grip your using?

  • Wow. Thanks loads for the advice, Zeke. I know what to work on now.

  • Nice vid. Though I'm wondering, is it a must to be able to shoot the deadman? A lot of people say it is but from the videos I've watched on youtube, everyone sprays the ball.

  • Hitting a deadman snake shot is hard to do. The rule is, if the hole that's open is the deadman hole, then you are shooting at the wrong hole. I would suggest that you learn hitting the longs fairly fast and effortlessly. This develops good technique and opens up the inside game. Sometimes you'll need to hit squared longs (not necessarily deadman) and other times you can just spray longs.

  • Can anyone reconmend me a reverse snakeshot vid, I can't find any.

  • What is that mean? Do you perhaps mean backpinning the ball and attempting a snake shot from back pin position?

    -zeke

  • thank you zeke

  • good expert~!!!

  • Kickass background music!

  • just a suggestion here. doesn't that look like the man spun 360 degrees? no offence to whoever is doin snake but, no matter how u stop it b4 the 360 point, it is gonna go more than 360 due to the force applied to the spin. stopping it right b4 360 degrees is like stopping a F1 car immediately at the finish line at 300++km/h. but all in all zeke, ur videos are definately a keeper. keep it up!

  • The man definitely spins more than 360 degrees. But the rule to which you are referring states that the rod must not spin 360 degrees before or after a strike, which he does not do. Before the strike, it is just under 360 degrees, and after the strike, the rod is choked after about 45 degrees of rotation.

  • you are allowed to turn 360 before the ball contakt and after it. The front pin movement doesnt count as contact..

the schoot is really common in europe and the usa and there is no doubt that it is legal

( sory for the bad english . Its not my first language)

  • now i gotta get THAT kind of foosball table

    <__<

  • Great Video!

  • Hi brother Zeke, first after watching all of your videos, you are really a great player with prefect skills.

About this guide, the problem for the learner is not how to soot the ball where you explain more, the problem for any new trainer at this snake (rollover) is to drag the ball to the side wich he wants to shoot, should have been focused more on that, but still you are the only one making detailed guides and that rocks, keep up the good work.

  • @szczupakosowa

it's a snake shot...legal because it is just under 360, notice he holds the ball with the back of his man and then kicks it with the front, just barely under a 360 degree turn by the width of his foot, then his follow through must also be under 360, which it is otherwise it would look like a double spin. Don't worry, you aren't the first to think it is a spin. Hope this helps.

  • Where in the ITSF rules does it say releasing the grips during a shot is illegal? I have some friends who do just that but they claim that since the rod never rotates more than 360 degrees before they grab it, the shot is legal.

  • You cannot turn players more than 360 degrees, that is correct. However, the official rules state that you cannot rotate more than 360 degrees prior to, or after striking the ball and they go on to SPECIFICALLY state that when determining the 360 degrees you do not add the degrees before striking the ball to the degrees after striking it. Definitely not a spin, definitely legal in ITSF, definitely NOT forbidden in European play.

  • try telling that this is illegal to spredeman pappas and moore XD

  • nice video, very well explained...now I go practice

  • I cant wait to try that

  • good stuff, really a lot more to it than meets the eye

  • Yea, I hope there is a 5-bar tutorial too.

  • Nice vid were you guys go to tourneys at and how often.

you need to post prac teq for the 5 bar so i no what to prac,

  • Hey Zeke! Nice video. Great, clear views and slowmo replays. It would be really good to get some more advice on the grip - I know that everyone uses a slightly different grip, but the trouble I always have is finding a grip that works well for BOTH the push and pull sides. The mechanics of the pull side don't seem to work in my arm!

    Stu

  • Hi Stu,

We can practice on this next we see each other at a local tournament. In general the grip you use should allow you to shoot any option. The pressure point on your wrist should be more towards the side where your thumb is, rather than the center of the wrist. I think i'm going to make a part 2 of this tutorial to address this and other questions I've received.

    Thanks.

    -zeke

  • That'd be great (both the practice and the video!) Maybe see you Saturday?

    Stu

  • hey zeke! how did u do in Vegas? are u a pro yet?

  • if it is from zeke..its a good vid..!!

  • that is a really good tut

    nicely done

  • Nice tutorial, Zeke! I think you may wanna add for novice players to practice on the rock with the wrist so the feeling won't be so awkward and that the shot is actually 2 motions in either direction but looks like one motion in real time.

  • Good job, Master Zeke!

    :)

  • Quick tutorial on the rollover/snake shot!

    Enjoy,

    -zeke
