These two perform so well together, so cool and relaxed. Peggy is always so glamorous and under that glamour and superb vocalizing, she had a definite sense of humor.
Frank Sinatra and Doris Day did a TERRIFIC version of this song on one of his RADIO shows-But this beats it HANDS DOWN. TOOTS and PEGGY were truly AWESOME. Very Moving, in fact.....No better harmonica player than TOOTS, not even LEE OSKAR, and I LOVE Lee Oskar...

Miss Lee erroneously states here that Benjamin Franklin invented the harmonica. Benjamin Franklin invented an instrument called the glass harmonica. It was nothing like the harmonica as we know it. It was an instrument played by wetting the tips of one's fingers and rubbing them on the rim of the glass to produce a musical pitch.
@kareljuwet jonge toch. Er is ook veel om niet trots op te zijn. Dus zwijg maar. Als die Amerikanen ook telkens zouden zeggen dat ze trots zijn op hun (tienduizenden) artiesten...
Wonderful clip! But, just for the record, Ben Franklin DIDN'T invent the harmonica. He invented the GLASS harmonica (sometimes spelled just armonica). It's a wonderful instrument using spinning crystal plates, but it's nothing at all like the instrument Toots plays.
Apologies to you and previous commenter. I recorded this clip with a good overlap and beginning and end ...but despite uploading it several times , it cut short on every attempt . I had to give up in the end!
oh blimey, and there's toots....i have a lovely record of toots with bill evans that i play ,and throw the windows open, and then go out on to the garden.peggy and toots are lovely together...its sexy in the sweetest way.
I have heard of Howard Levy. He does the impossible with the diatonic. I guess my preference is for chromatic harp players. Overall, I think they are better technicians and much more sophisticated improvisers. I respect your opinion.

No you don't. You have zero experience w/ the concept of thoughts. prefer all you want ,but, you're in no position to judge who is better. Think about your comment of improvising. If anyone is better at improvisation, it's who achieves more w/ less- not the other way around.I understand you like the clean, whitewashed sound , & that's fine for primitive ears.Stretch brother, stretch,&you'll see who is easy to duplicate.

Wow..WOW!! Toots and Peggy what a collaboration. Did they ever make a recording of this? Exceptional. Toots is genius and Peggy is nothing short of amazing!!

A little beside the point, but interesting that Mozart wrote for the glass harmonica aka the glass harmonium.
