  • These two perform so well together, so cool and relaxed. Peggy is always so glamorous and under that glamour and superb vocalizing, she had a definite sense of humor.

  • This video is among my top ten ... A duo with two of my favourite artists ...

Peggy's laugh at 1:44 ! Wit, humour AND great musicianship - thank you so much, puglet7, for posting!

  • oh! .. the video was cut when he went to carry the solo harmonica

    Always exceptional, Toots

  • Wow

  • It should be against the law to be THAT good... wow.

  • John Lennon saw Toots playing in Hamburg and he was a fan... that's all i wanne say folks

  • Ouch! I appreciate what's there, but, the performance is cut short!

  • Wow! Dripping with class! These two can perform rings around 90% of performers of today.

  • Wonderful. Musical FUN and sheer artistry

  • Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!

  • Toots is and will always be ALIVE

  • You don't get them any better.. this is it!

  • god i love this woman !

  • I've never thot of a harmonica as an instrument for erotica...

  • Thanks for sharing this two titans of jazz

  • Toots Thielemans and Hercules Poirot. The most famous Belgians.

  • what a charming old man, I just watched his concert this summer. He is a living legend

  • Frank Sinatra and Doris Day did a TERRIFIC version of this song on one of his RADIO shows-But this beats it HANDS DOWN. TOOTS and PEGGY were truly AWESOME. Very Moving, in fact.....No better harmonica player than TOOTS, not even LEE OSKAR, and I LOVE Lee Oskar...

  • Love this, truncated or not. Toots was a great guitarist, too. Thanks for putting this up.

  • @stuarthants Still is, I believe.

  • @stuarthants Toots IS a great guitarist, too... ;-) Also check out his whistling talents...

  • I love this!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • YOu preserved a peice of great history to the best of your ability you have nothing to apologize for

  • Talking about "old instruments"

  • beautifull / Amazing !!!

  • Miss Lee erroneously states here that Benjamin Franklin invented the harmonica. Benjamin Franklin invented an instrument called the glass harmonica. It was nothing like the harmonica as we know it. It was an instrument played by wetting the tips of one's fingers and rubbing them on the rim of the glass to produce a musical pitch.

  • @alovesupreme71863

A little beside the point, but interesting that Mozart wrote for the glass harmonica aka the glass harmonium.

  • he plays the harmonica, he plays the guitar, he whistles, and DAMN how he plays like a real virtuoso..

  • well, now I'm proud to be Belgian :)

  • @kareljuwet jonge toch.

  • Toots is still youthful here, but his prowess remains despite his grey hair in more recent videos...Once a virtuoso, always a vituoso...

  • Great performers!!!!....and the rest of it????

  • Wonderful clip! But, just for the record, Ben Franklin DIDN'T invent the harmonica. He invented the GLASS harmonica (sometimes spelled just armonica). It's a wonderful instrument using spinning crystal plates, but it's nothing at all like the instrument Toots plays.

  • You are correct, sir!

  • great version, thanks for posting...at least most of it, anyway.

  • i'm not offended..i'm totally up for it...i cant think of greater fun.

  • good song

  • awesome

  • That is about the sweetest version of Makin' Whoppee EVER. Two really great artists. Thanks for posting.

  • Toots is the best ever. Stevie is right behind.

  • Chromatic harp players are so way ahead of diatonic harp players. Such virtuosity.

  • mayurasana, You obviously aren't familiar with Howard Levy or you wouldn't make such an uninformed statement.

  • I have heard of Howard Levy. He does the impossible with the diatonic. I guess my preference is for chromatic harp players. Overall, I think they are better technicians and much more sophisticated improvisers. I respect your opinion.

  • perkursen

    Delightful and exquisit!

  • como a nuestro parecer

cualquier tiempo pasado , fué mejor.....

  • Toots is heartbreakingly beautiful and Peggy holds her own, as always. Thank you!

  • Hi Louie , Delighted you enjoyed the video . Yes , Peggy and Toots collaborated with this song on her album, called " Somethin' Groovy ".

  • Wow..WOW!! Toots and Peggy what a collaboration. Did they ever make a recording of this? Exceptional. Toots is genius and Peggy is nothing short of amazing!!

  • This is pretty amazing.

  • amazing harmonica performance, I play harmonica too and when you laugh it's impossible to blow!

  • I also play the harp but, I've found it impossible to suck when I laugh.looks like a draw.

  • I saw him live, a few months ago. Between the music he tells funny anecdotes.

  • The man who played the "Sesame Street" tune and the woman who sang in the movie "Lady and the Tramp" - a fine pairing indeed :)

  • This is brilliant, but I gotta see the rest of this!

  • Peggy's cool, but HE "blew" her away! ;-)

  • WOW....What a treat for all music lovers.Peggy and Toots.I could listen to no end.GREAT!!!

  • Love Peggy's Streisandesque pageboy hair.

  • You Tube heaven, pity you dont see the whole tune. Thanks anyway.

  • I see nothing but class!

  • @likekinds that's some classy whoopee makin' right there =P

  • You're right Toots is a genius....wrong choice of words...Peg can make even a genius rise to new heights

  • it looked like Toots only had one arm during the intro wierd.

  • me encanta y adoro este tema, y es muy lindo escucharla con Peggy!

    gracias!

  • Oh yes indeed . The two together are a real class act . No-one today can come near to this !!!

  • oh and if they ever make a movie based on Toot's life, Drew Carrey has a new gig.

  • Drew Carrey doesn't look anything like Peggy...

  • I love how she can make anyone she worked with look like a musical genius.

  • Excuse me, Toots is a genius...

  • Great!

  • This is really funny! Peggy and Toots are great. Richard
