Yeah, he could have made Blacula a one-dimensional character, but I for one don't think he did. he made me care about that character much more than I ever thought I would, R.I.P. William Marshal.
@Avankiri The trailer is very similar to the early Jaws trailer with the same style voice over narration. I'm thinking of the Jaws triler where the guy says comething like "God created the devil and gave him JAWS! or something to that effect. Plus it just capitalized on the Shark-mania that Jaws created.
Cheryl Stoppelmoor is more famous these days by her married name: Cheryl Ladd. If you've ever wondered what she did before Charlie's Angels, well, here it is.
That opening has absolutely nothing to do with what the movie is about. This is no Jaws rip off (in fact, it predated Jaws by a few years). In fact, it's about vacationing divers seraching for a sunken treasure. When a bunch criminals find out, they try to kill the divers and take the treasure for themselves.
Sweet boat. Looks like a Burger or a Trumpy. Is that James Earl Jones?

David Ladd and Cheryl Ladd Stopplemoor, husband and wife. The Beastie could have been called "Charlie, Monster Tuna Type Thing of the Sea.

Also starring rosie Grier. The narrator is the star of Blacula, William Marshall.

I'd know Marshall's voice anywhere. He could've voiced Darth Vader as wellas James Earl Jones.

No, It's not a ripoff of Jaws but the marketing is and it came out after Jaws in 1976.
