@greenylimew Try using a paper napkin or some relatively soft paper - maybe that will help. There is quite some paper tension, so stiffer paper can easily rip.
its cool, i keep ripping it when i invert the folds to form the petals though ... any idea why? i used proper origami paper, maybe i folded it too tight in the first place?
It does have to do with your paper choice somewhat, but I think you can do a lot with applying the pressure in the exact right place and supporting the paper in the places where it tends to rip. If the paper is too thick, it will be almost impossible not to rip it (unless you dampen it, maybe). The same holds for too stiff paper (which will usually be heavier, too). You can also try folding it from paper or cloth napkins.
I keep ripping the petals off. Any way to keep that from happening, other than using less force? I think it's the paper I'm using, I'm using standard printer paper.
You could try using a large square. It should work with office paper, although origami paper should rip less easily. It might be about adding pressure on the right points.
Nice origami! You both work great as a team. : ) It's amazing that I made one out of a piece of origami paper that measures3.75 centimeters on each side! it was really painful, though. LOL.
This is a terrific model, and the dual teaching method worked out nicely since it's a simple one as well. Although, I'm curious why you did decided to team up. In any case, you are both very good folders and very clear teachers. : )
Thank you tadashimori and AdamsSara for this great video! Today I taught 5 little girls (ages 6-10) how to make it, and they were able to make some themselves! It just goes to show that you guys are very good teachers!
I absolutely agree. Also, the reverse folds, which are harder with standard paper, are easier to make with napkins. and having larger "paper" helps, of course. :)
Tadashimori is in this video? How can that be?are you guys brothers and sisters?does tadashi have his own channel

@greenylimew you can try unfold the last tick part, reverse fold, and then just adjust the tick fold.(thats how i did )

@greenylimew
push on the little fold you make at 4:08 at the same time as trying to pull the first petals. And do it slowly.

Sara, why is your camera sometimes out of focus? Its kind of weird and makes the video blurry. (Only some parts)

Ah, it might've been the size, I used a bigger square of paper and I got it to work. Thanks! :D

Great video, as always =)
This model works great to put a glass in to decorate the dinner table for special occasions, if you use a big enough paper napkin.
