  • In my opinion,Albert was the greatest Blues man to ever grace the stage. You're absolutely right,Thereis no color in the Blues.Just alot of Soul.RIP Iceman!!!

  • What a voice.

  • Know this is all about the blues...by the way you can also check this local Montreal blues band, they sound very good : gypsy kate power trio, try to Google it..

  • I beleive she do got that black cat bone

  • Sadly, Albert Collins never got the recognition he truly deserved.

  • @iConquerYou Ya you right, and he and albert king are recognized as 2 of the greatest out there.

I was thinking the same thing!!

Looks like a t-shirt or something...

    Dm

  • Now, I really do wish that I could have seen this fella at some stage in my life, what an artist. I will have to make do with youtube, hours of fun

  • @mrspenn1611 Hey Dude, I wish you could have seen him too. He was Fantastic live, and he would play 3 X 45-50 min sets. He and His band would wear me out dancing along. I got to meet and visit with him on several occasions and he was ALWAYS very nice and extremely friendly. He would take his time shaking your hand and ask you your name and where you were from. He took his time signing every auto graph friendly and courteously. By his mannerisms I would guess he was raised in the south.

  • @tejastiger61 Many thanks for your reply. Yes he was a fantastic entertainer and also took cameo roles in Films too. He stard in one of Elisabeth Shue's (spelling) films where she had to sing the blues before she left the stage. One of my faves is Got that feeling, All the best my friend, Steve

  • WHAT IS THAT GIRL'S NAME!? Because I think I fell in love.

  • @TCELL24 debbie davies bro

  • I truly agree with his take on women...lol

  • From an Old South boy--Black Cat Bone. Skin, gut and boil a black cat until the flesh falls away from the bones, then dry out the skeleton. Then you 'taste' each bone. The one that's bitter--that's the Black Cat Bone.

  • lol i always thought the lyric was "my baby got a black cap on", great tune

  • Awesome

  • He surly had the right to play the Blues

  • The Ice Man....Albert is funkier than it gets...

  • that brings a smile to my face

yep been there more times than ide care to wish

but i guess ths just life

  • I guess I have my speakers switched as AC was on left(stage right)n DD was on right ;)

  • Exelent!

  • his songs are always so funky love it

  • Anyone who plays a Telecaster, and doesn't want to sound like Albert Collins...is wrong. Ha! He's just stone cold w/that thing. Soooo funky.

  • I love Debbie Davis. She's enjoying every moment

  • Other good--really good--girls on blues guitar:

    1. Ana Popovic

    2. Grace Potter

  • Anyone notice buddy guy in the crowd definetly him!! So cool

  • @shivejason

    when ?

  • he gets on stage look it up it is one of the coolest videos out there

  • @shivejason Yeah! Saw Buddy G. Straight up. Great horn section and, well, Albert C. is just as funky as it gets.

  • saxman playing two horns.

  • @shivejason

You can't hardly miss him standing in the front row with that Guitar strapped to him.

He probably wanted to get onstage with Albert. I wonder if he did later in this show?

  • Albert is in the right speaker. Debbie is in the left speaker.

  • Go Girl...you are loved!!

  • The master of the Telecaster !

  • Big Al is the Shaft of Blues.

  • a girl playing blues is one of the sexiest thing ever created by god.

  • @greyskull979 oh yeah that s for sure

  • @greyskull979 that aint no gurl, thats a woman right there, but i feel what yuh sayin buddy.

  • @greyskull979 amen Brother, you sure got that right

  • Her name is Debbie Davies

  • @greyskull979 .... I say AMEN !!

  • Wow.... this is in STEREO! Albert's about to leap outta my left speaker! lol!

  • When I saw Albert at Toads ill never forget how friendly he was. He told me he was a little nervous. What an amazing performance as I stated earlier.

  • the girl is amazing.. plays very well guitar, is also beautifull... If she´s able to cook, she will be the perfect woman...

  • Yeah, she does know how to play some mean ol' blues. It's kinda sexy for a woman to be able to do so well in what is considered a predominantly male music genre. Way to go, Debbie.

  • Debbie got some chops,if she didn't,she wouldn't be up on stage playin with Albert Collins, that's for sure....Even Cowgirls Get the Blues !

  • ...you are disgusting and wrong. I wish MORE women played the blues. I truly feel sorry for you. Unless of course you were being sarcastic. :P

  • Po', 'po, peterlour. It's folks like you that give us gals the blues! Here's a thought:

    * Stop watching music vids

    * Move. I hear the taliban is still recruiting

LOL... I 'm just joking. Wait, no I'm not.

    Sheez, wadda maroon.

    Wail on D.D.!

  • Haha way to go girl!

  • TWAT

  • You're an asshat.

  • That woman on Guitar is Debbie Davies and she is one of the best blues guitar players we have. Check out any of her CDs and I'm sure you will agree.

  • My my shes gooood!

  • HAHA, awesome Albert song!! my favorite from him. real funky and YEAH, she can play!!!! SWEET!! HAHAHA

  • Who's that woman on the other guitar?? She's fuckin brilliant! That looks like a Robert Cray signature strat she's playing!

  • It's Debbie Davies. No slouch on the guitar. And sings too.

  • I NEVER get drawn into comparisons on Youtube! But, she IS good. I think she features on the long live clip of Frosty, with Duke Robillard and AC. Very well worth a view.

  • funky funky!

  • hey man, I love blues and soul... and this one has funk also and what you get is great, he is great, 5 stars

  • That great sax man playing tenor and alto is no other than the great Chuck Williams the one man horn section from Richmond, VA now playing with Forrest & Kaylon McDonald and the blues train.

  • HAHA buddy guy is there wagging his finger

    that's awesome

  • 2:01

is that guy playing two sax's ? 0.0 now thats awesome

  • Cookin!

  • yeah mr clinton is there XDDD

  • music doesnt have color man

  • What

  • so fucking true!

  • I really wish it did not But it does!

  • @SublimeALLSTARS Perfect statement.

  • @SublimeALLSTARS some music is blue?

  • very tru it has manyy coulor's But regarding to skin It has no coulor

  • @SublimeALLSTARS

Yea it does. Its def. blue.

  • yeah reverb is personal but yeah your right, them guys use heaps, personaly though i was always taught by my father who is a great singer/ guitarist that reverb was over the top i guess its just personal like the tone, i can never decide i like to mix it up, kinda use different e q on different songsand clean/dirty or fithy, just how you feel at the time i guess

  • Is that Bill Clinton on the right at 3.50?

  • Pure Genius !

  • That is indeed Buddy wagging his finger at 3:47, and smiling at the end.

  • Collins is one the most underrated of blues performers. What a genius! As for Debbie Davis, she is anything but a "generic hot little blues bitch." Check out some of her youtube vids. She is an extraordinary artist. People like SvenTwelve ought to get some facts before they bother us with offensive comments.

  • is Buddy Guy in the end of the video ??

  • This is awsome!!!

  • yes. yes. thanks pleasefeel free to check my blues guitar leads at oxharp channel or my face book = jib/nathan im also on my space the band is called the cadilacs it a bit cranky but i like to think im quite good sometimes if i can say that! i only say cause people tell me though im carefull not to believe my own hype! ha ha peace bro

  • ooohh funkay! id happily marry the girl somethings drenched in reverb though is it a hamond! sound like albert using it too just a personal thing i dont like reverb but fuck me this the shit! blues power for life! its crazy too think some people cant 'get' or feel stuff like this, i feel sorry for them! it gives me what i call a spiritual epithany or a mind orgasm

  • Word.

  • Hmm i sometimes feel ashamed using too much reverb, like its covering up my mistakes or somethin. But listen to Albert or even Peter Green, it doesn't detract from their soul

  • Who's the young lady?

  • a generic hot little blues bitch.

  • generic, you say?

    why?

  • It's Debbie Davies and she's about as generic as Bonnie Raitt. This video is years old but I just saw Debbie Davies rockin the boat 2 weeks ago on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise. One of the best blues guitarist on the planet.

  • 3:24 ********

  • No one does the AXE like the Ice Man!

  • Thanks YTEL

    10* -

    Carlinhos

  • Albert was always good value with his playing, band behind him is fabulously tight, and how come no-one has mentioned the sax player playing TWO saxes at the same time!

  • Oh yeah- that's Buddy Guy alright! Hey this gig was outta sight with the horns and all and that chick can play real good too! Woulda had fun at that show!

  • Damn, I just LOVE the way he does it!! Best version of Monkey On My Back was done by him.

    God bless you, Albert Collins!!

  • I think that's Buddy Guy off stage at 3:48.

I have to give Albert props - the shoulder strap and high capo (sometimes at fret 7, sometimes at fret 9) would drive me crazy.

See Albert bending strings at one fret above his capo, strings physically harder to bend a full step than they would be down at the nut. He must have had incredibly strong index finger.

Coco Montoya says he was with Albert when he passed away. Albert said "I've got nothin' but love."

Coco wrote the song from it.

  • Haha, that's Buddy Guy at 3:50 right?

  • BITCH

  • One of the great ones

  • Albert Collins was a huge influence on Jimi Hnedrix. Just listen to Jimi's "Drivin' South" which was a nod to Collins. Back in the early 50s, when Albert was with Big Walter Price, he had a sound very similar to Hendrix.( He got a wah-wah sound from turning his tone control)..something that guys like Roy Buchanan used . Collin's was such a nice guy..always humourous, helpful and with not a shred of hatred in him. Debbie plays wonderfully on here. She's great!

  • I just heard aboutt his guy, was lookin for some music similar of the one from BB King and Eric Clapton, buddy guy and on searchin the site the results came up on this guy, and hell i dont regret it.Great

  • YES, AC is fantastic! If your looking for more similar check out Freddie King, I've got three great videos of him on my favs list. Freddie is awesome as well!

  • Check out Clarence Gatemouth Brown as well. He & Albert both swUng in their day. Awesome performers.

  • You better be listening to Albert King too! ;)

  • where in the fuck were the DJs and major record album executives when it came to this man ? , music is no different than " art " its all ass lickin' and politics

  • THAT was a religious experience. It gave me chills. Every part of it was perfect. Thank you. I'd never heard of this guy, and I'm wondering why he isn't more famous than BB King.

  • because he isn't as good

  • Just listening to the drummer, it sounds a lot like Buddy Miles heavy style of drumming. Great groove. I wonder if Buddy Miles ever played with Albert Collins.

  • I saw Albert at Toads Place in New Haven many times. He always went through the crowd with his 200 foot guitar cord over our heads. Once I did follow him out onto York Street still playin of course. The opening act LONNIE MACK was leaving to get on his tour bus. Albert took off his guitar and Lonnie was now playing! The crowd inside had no idea. I will never forget the great Albert Collins!

  • yes that was buddy.

  • who is the women?

  • That's Debbie Davies.

She's a great gal. I had the good fortune to meet her in Louisville on a club tour stop there.

  • I can't stop watching and listening to this gold stuff. Thanks for post it. i love you

  • greatest live blues i've ever seen!!!!!!!

  • Albert Collins Live at Montreux is now available on DVD and CD via Eagle Rock Entertainment!!!

  • yea i go it!!!

  • Saw Albert at Toads Place New Haven Ct. Still gives me chills. He took the band through the crowd out to York St!

  • can't remember the year. Sorry.

  • what a legend

  • It's Buddy. They jammed together at the end of this gig.

  • was that buddy guy in the audience at 3:50?

  • looks like him. bad angle so cant really tell

  • damn she tore it up!

  • Awsome, his the another blues legend, after BB king, Magic Slim, T-bone Walker, Edgar-JHony Winter, Srv,Eric Clapton, Robert Jhonson,Budy GUY, Robert Cray etc

  • zis are ze bluez !!!

  • He was a great player. An electric entertainer, with a geninue smile. For those of you who dont or didnt know, he mentored a muscian called Coco Montoya. Coco is also a great guitarist. Check him out. You heard it here first. Blues is life and life is blues. A blues watcher, observer, seeker. Thats all.

  • When I die, I want so bad to jam with Albert!

  • ill be in the queue. this man can play

  • this is the good blues jeje albert ''the telecaster'' collins

  • Thats so sweat to see a chick play the bluse!!

  • Thanks for the post, this is so cool! And at the end Buddy Guy appears in the audience, enjoing the show.

It´s the first time I see Debbie D. she did it well too

  • George Jefferson on the Trombone ladies and gentleman......George Jefferson!!!

  • Man this is so cool.

I love Albert Colins, so much.

  • That's right, Legends around 1990.
