there is a system for guitars which is called floyd rose. someone should tell this to this guy

@anaforwocal There is NO way you can do behind the nut bends with a Floyd, and a ton of other things which are out of reach. John 5 doesn't use a Floyd-based setup for a good reason.

@CrushedJustice He's actually doing "pinch" or "artificial harmonics. What he does behind the nut is a bend of the string. Since he's not fretting any notes when he does the harmonic, the only way to bend it is behind the nut. You can achieve the same effect if you have a vibrato on your guitar, but his doesn't.

I never thought about doing a harmonic up on the headstock behind the nut. That's pretty damn brilliant. Going to try it now. John 5 is a pretty damn great teacher. The only problem is, there needs to be a disclaimer. "May injure fingers if you try and aren't good enough".
