To be 100% i have a ps3,(not a word of lie) well, my family does lmao, but still lol. We use it to watch movies using the browser onto our tv. (but thats besides the point) and well, our ps3, came in a bundle with LBP, and Uncharted, soo yes, i have played Little Big Planet

Only reason im ripping on the Ps3, is:

1) this commercial is slightly misleading

2) I personally dont like our PS3, i play my 360 ALOT more.

The PS3 console rocks and it's not too bad either. I already own a PS3 and my PS3 console that I currently own has backwards compatibility with games for both PS1 and PS2. It's so awesome and right now, I already own nine games total so far for the PS3. My most favorite PS3 games so far would probably have to be MGS4, RE5, GT5: Prologue, and GTA IV. I really like those games the most and they're such great games to play too. They're so awesome. PlayStation rules!

I miss having a PS1 and PS2. I have a 360 and I would much rather have the PS3 but the weak backwards compatibility led me to buy the 360 because the PS3 doesn't run everything from the PS1 or PS2. Made me sad.

If you want quality gaming but kinda pricey, go PC. If you want universal gaming that anyone can access go consoles. Overall, gaming on the PC is a lot better than on a console. Consoles are just cheaper and you don't need to upgrade. If you have money in your pocket during this recession, then go ahead, shell out the $300 for that new nVidia card.

LOL Yeah. The PS3 DOES everything all right. All except for playing PS2 games, that is! That stinks that the current PS3 models don't have backwards compatibility with PS2 games and that would be so good to have that feature back again too. The current PS3 models can play PS1 games though, but not PS2 games. In the future soon sometime, I hope they ever do make a new PS3 model with PS2 backwards compatibility again. That would be so awesome. :)

Yeah. I suppose that would be really something there and that would probably seem cool too. If they ever release a PS4 sometime in the future, they should have it 100% backwards compatible with all PS1, PS2, and PS3 games. That would be so awesome. I think they should also make a new PS3 model soon sometime or a new PS3 slim model with full backwards compatibility for both PS1 and PS2 games.

Reason is Blu Ray is Sony proprietary owns the Blu Ray Technology... Meaning if Microsoft XBox wanted to get Blu Ray, they would have to kiss up to Sony, or certain parts of Sony.

that isnt happening currently because there are still a market for DVDs. But soon Microsoft will have to force itself to switch to blu-ray. As you can see,, blu-ray is getting more popular. Its just the repeat history of CDs and DVDs.

Problem is - Microsoft doesn't have to go to Blu Ray on this gen game system. Maybe the next game system will. Then again they can go one further and go strict online distribution. All I am saying is that Microsoft is unlikely to touch it with the 360.

Also, if demand for BR rises, cost for DVDs will go down which means games will drop in price as well. Blu Ray demand is lukewarm right now (due to the economy).

Microsoft is lucky that Sony released PS3 later than xbox360 did. Most of the current games are made on 360 platform instead of of PS3 except for few like FF13 which is made on PS3 platform then over to 360.

Even if microsoft want to touch blu-ray Sony may not let MS enter the market. Online distribution is an uncertainty, it can even be more costly than retailing products.

However more than Sony has say in what happens with BR. In fact, the Blu Ray Association consists of several companies that say who gets to do what with BR.

Sony would be foolish not to allow BR for Microsoft. In fact, BR drives are compatible with Microsoft PCs. So, BR maybe possible on the next gen systems but probably not for the 360. Since BR holds 25 - 50 gigs, Microsoft would be foolish not to at least try for it on their next gen system.

DVD's price will go down as soon as blu-ray disc burners become cheap. When they were first release it was ~$800 but now it has gone down to around $200.

But this is a matter of time and technology.
