  • beside the obvious mistakes, I liked the rendition. kempff isn't the greatest pianist but he understands how beethoven should go.

  • it is not by alfred brendel, bu Wilehlm Kempff

  • Still like Mark Salman's interpritation best.

  • ESTA PASABLE

  • Kempff's, not Brendal's.

    lol: "it's Wilhelm Kempff's crappy version. "

  • he's right. it is crappy and overrated kempff version.

    cheers.

  • ... I didn't mean crappy though. Haha. :) And... I did hear a little stumble at 0:40-0:50. Haha. :)

What language do you speak (primarily), zielarzopl?

  • polish. :P

    sry, bad english :P

  • No, your English is fine. Really. It's just... I got an email about your comment, and it was in a language I didn't recognize. So I thought it would ask. :) Your English is great though.

  • this isn't Alfred Brendel playing, it's Wilhelm Kempff's crappy version.

  • this...sort fits...I think

  • read the frikin DESCRIPTION

  • This is Kempff big guy. Not Brendel.

  • Lmao, I started the Kempff video and this one at close to the same time and paused the Kempff video real quick and now they're playing similtaneously.

  • Yeah, I just started the kempff video and this video at close to the same time.

They are 100% the same. Its the exact same recording as the Kempff video on youtube.

  • IT IS KEMPFF!

Same mistakes in the same places!!!

  • This video doesn't sound like Brendel.

It sounds just like Kempff. The Brendel video responding with this one sounds like a much different interpretation.

  • do not mess with kempff

    and some chaep video/computer shit

  • the performer is Kempff. it's Kempff's live performance here (on youtube), I have exactly the same recording. The kempff-ish playing and the same mistakes reveal it...humm, sorry for being so blunt.

  • That´s right. Brendel´s playing details are unmistakable... just superior.

  • yes, Kempff's good interpreter and player otherwise, and he's at his best when he's playing pieces like Tempest sonata, Waldstein and Moonlight sonata parts 1&2. but I think he's a little bit too delicate with this one. Brendel does have a better version of the 3rd mvt, but I don't say this one isn't good at all.

  • I´m really sorry "yuquio" but from the first three bars i hardly, really hardly believe this is Brendel. Why? because i play this piece and because i know all of his interpretations as well.

If he played this, then it was late at night, quasi-asleep. If you´re interested i´ll post the real interpretation.

  • This is Kempff, lol.

Listen to the Kempff video and this.

  • kempff made foult at 40-50 sec. don't know exactly.

  • And the more I listen to this, the crappier it sounds. Oh my God. You're absolutely right, zielarzopl.

  • watch barenboim's. my favourite presto agigato.

  • I gotta say, I only clicked on this to hear Brendel's version of the piece. But as far as the video goes, it doesn't really fit the music. Well put together, but next time try to get some dynamic between the music and the video.
