I thought I read that she wasn't being chased and that she took off from a breath testing check point after failing the general and was asked to pull over to the side of the road, she then took off fast and hit the 52 year old when she flew through the round about.

I believe that certain officers know that they can rely on truckers etc to be listening in to offer them help if they are looking for a car etc.
