He died attempting to ski-basejump but then fly away in a wingsuit.  One of his skis wouldn't pop off and he started spinning and wasn't able to open his chute.

Glen Plake came from the underground he never whanted to be in the spot light he was true to what he belive in being down to earth the word extreme is not a word to him its HotDogging and Glen showed the world were skiing can be taken.Yes I understand there were other skier's before glen but Glen put it on the map),Think with You and I just have are own thought's on this subject and to Me that is cool !!!!!!

Who collects the abandoned ski poles? Seriously, I'm interested to know. I assume they are left on the mountain as the terrain is not easy to stop on but surely someone should be responsible for getting them back.

Glen Plake was a great skier, and a he's a very nice guy I'm sure, but when he came to Chamonix he quickly found out that he certainly couldn't wander in and be number one in that valley. He may have started it i NA, but Europe, and especially France, has bred rediculously skilled extreme skiers since long before Plake. But Plake was the kind of skier you wanted to take pictures of, extreme skiings first poster boy.
