This is an excellent song. Why no one has recorded it is beyond my comprehension. Kara has a terrific voice! To bad she doesn't take the bull by the horn and make her own album!! Time restraints probably are the biggest consideration because of American Idol but it's to bad she can't find a little for this venue. She's an amazing talent!!

Songwriters actually get a LOT more money than recording artists. Recording artists get the fame, the record labels, writers, producers, etc. etc. etc. get most of the money. There is a lot of money needed to buy copyright rights for a song, especially if the writer is known to write hit songs. If Kara were to put out an album, she'd have to pay all those people, unless she is a producer, and she's a songwriter, but she doesn't own everything so she'd still lose a bunch of money.

Kara writing all these songs is RAKING in the money lol don't be fooled. You make much more money as a songwriter (especially when you're in good with the label execs) You make more money on selling the songs and publishing than an artist who has to pay the record label back for EVERYTHING, gets a tiny portion IF ANY of the publishing, and then you get so few points of profit on your album sales you have to stay on tour to really make money.

This is a great song that has been out there for a while. Kara must have been waiting for someone like Kat to come around and record this. I don't know what some others are hearing, but to me Kara's voice sounds really rough on this song. She's just a mediocre singer. While it's fair to say that Kara puts more emotion into the song with this rendition Katharine's voice blows her out of the water, without question - and i'd bet Katharine's live performances will match the emotion of this vocal. It's really just a matter of trying to produce something that could be a radio hit and the way Katharine sings it makes it more catchy.
