Why are there gay Republicans?

Perhaps they vote republican because true republicans believe in personal liberty, individual responsibility and a Constitutionally limited government that does not intrude into their personal lives? What have the dems done for homosexuals, other than lie to them to keep their votes? In fact the dems have done that with every "minority" group, they have a long history of stringing people along with unfulfilled promises. The sad thing is, it works for them, people buy it hook, line and sinker.
