it was the PG USA National showcase where every player is considered a pro prospect. those hitters were legit, he was just throwing 96 mph gas with movement, add in a nice slider.

Look, it's fine if you have tremendous stuff, but if you can't stay healthy over 100+ pitches a game for 200+ innings a season then obviously you shouldn't do it. High school you pitch once a week, so you can rear back and fire with everything you've got but to be a durable major league pitcher you have to use your mechanics efficiently. Would you rather he be injured all the time like Mark Prior or Rich Harden?

it's because of the stereotypes of baseball and how our brains work. righties are straight up and down, concrete thinkers and proceed to read straight from the book and everything is just like roger clemens, which is what they teach the little kids. as for lefties, we are more abstract and tend to put our own spin on things literally and metaphorically. and plus everyone recognizes our movement. like the UVA pitching coach called me a "different creature" because my four seamer moved so much..
