  • An extraordinary talent who does not get nearly enough recognition.

  • Cooper really showed that he can play something besides a miltary man

  • Deserved award. Although, Chris Cooper should at least have received a nomination for "American Beauty".

  • You can see Nicole Kidman stroking Ed Harris on the thigh at 1:11.

  • @jmcgvrn You have got to be a women...how the hell do u notice those things.

  • If he wins an oscar again (excessively hopeful for the muppets), he should get up there saying: Maniacal Laugh! Maniacal Laugh!

  • I think it's really evident from this speech, and the way he thanks his wife, that Chris Cooper definitely went through a lot of struggle before winning this award.

  • lol he told me he was nervous out of his mind up there

  • Chris Cooper is one of the most underrated actors of all the times

  • @bubediscuss I agree totally

  • RIP PAUL NEWMAN

  • STILL UNDERRATED!

  • well deversed

  • i think it is so unprofessional when people don't show up. like really? what else is more important? it's so tacky when they show that awkward picture of the person who didn't come.

  • @rtmeador Going to the awards was never a priority for him. He was absent at least 4 or 5 times when he was nominated, including when he finally won. He did, however, donate more than $300 million to charity from his food brand alone (since 1982.) & that's just a fraction of his works.

"There must be something wrong with a group that hands out awards and then has to send telegrams, saying, 'Please come.' It should be fun to go to — not agony. There's something barbaric about it." -Paul Newman

  • Great year in Cinema and most definitely for Supporting Actors that year.

  • I wish I could marry Jenny Connelly. What a gorgeous woman.

  • I still think Charlie Kaufman should've won. Not Nicholas Cage, but the real guy.

  • i was in this movie, its great

  • Strong year but Chris Cooper definately deserved it

  • aww, so sad :-( i think he deserves it! great job chris cooper.

  • Chris Cooper punched me in my face and called me a punk in 2005! LOL!

  • An amazing actor, well deserved!

  • aw man i love chris cooper in this, but i didnt know ed harris was in the category. Ed was better I think. Not saying Chris wasn't amazing, he was, but Ed harris moved me much more in the hours

  • Spike Jonze? As in, Jackass Spike Jonze?

  • @uwlwsrpm yep

  • When is Ed Harris going to win?

  • anyone else see bono and the edge in the background?

  • fuck U2 ...lmao @PalmPistol

  • AT LAST! And American Beauty should have been his too...extraordinary

  • Damn, Jennifer Connolly is gorgeous

  • @vinmass123 Yes, but oh so boring. Yikes.

  • such a modest and lalented man... I liked that wshen the winner was announced, still shocked, he started to applause and his wife grapped his hand to stopped him... I also enjoyed him in Seabisquit...

  • lol at the paul newman pic

  • jennifer connely most beautiful woman ever *-*

  • christopher walken looks kinda depresed when she mentioned his name

  • @aviiancu he always looks depressed..

  • 1:13

total cash vaule of everyone in the house...

lets just say it's almost all that 1% richest you hear about

  • poor ed harris

  • The WRONG Chris won this Oscar. The winner should have been the incomparable

Christopher Walken for CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. Alot of comics like to impersonate

Walken, but he is still one of the Best Actors EVER!!!

  • aww I love how sweet he was about Meryl Streep. Loved those two together in the movie. They worked so well together.

  • Why is he that nervous ?

  • Cooper was great, but I think Cage was the better performance in Adaptation.

  • He kisses Meryl and not Jennifer ???? Are you kidding me ?

  • @superlucas010578,

If I was Chris (He has my name), I would fucking be all over Jenny anf not let go for 2 minutes.

  • I'm so glad he won, his performance was great

  • Jack is too fat to actually turn around to see meryl

  • they should nominated jennifer connelly for those eyes too...

  • Chris Cooper really was extraordinary in Adaptation. He and Meryl were amazing together. One of the best-deserved wins in this category.

  • One of the simplest but most emotional and great speeches ever. Very classy

  • He was great. I actually thought Nic Cage was fantastic as well!!!!

  • he shoulve been nominated for best supporting actor in american beauty. he was awesome

  • Wow.. He kisses everyone except Kaufman and Cage.. They must've gotten crazy jealous..

  • @tkmariner that's idiotic. he didn't kiss them because they're men and they don't look jealous

  • But why?

  • a man´s weakness is still the woman!

  • Adaptation is an awesome brilliant movie. Everyone was great, even Nic Cage.

Chris Cooper was just hilarous as John Laroche and Meryl so divine as Susan Orlean (I really don't mind CZJ's win, but I so would have given it to Meryl instead).

I still don't understand why the movie wasn't up for best picture that year!

    Great speech Chris!

Although I've seen all of the 5 nominees, he was really the best.

  • oooh what is this..a gay pride parade.

  • That's a true actor. Love his work and his passion. I have to say... "Adaptation", along with "Amadeus", "Network" and "American Beauty" have changed my life for real.

  • nicholas cage's date was jack nicholson!

  • "Adaptation" really changed my life along with "Amadeus", "Network" and "American Beauty". Have some respect to this man. Pure actor.

  • ....and a specialy mention award goes to jennifer connelys eyes

  • @majesticmaniac JAJAJAJA (in English: HAHAHAHA)

  • I love how Ed Harris stopped the camera from getting too close to him LOL :-)))

  • There's a man.

  • An awful choice..and the least deserving of the five. This was an apology for forgetting him for American Beauty. John C. Reilly should have won.

  • @pudgeuncle You're out of your mind.

  • he was amazing in American Beauty also...

  • This guy is like 59 going on 60 and he still looks young DAMN!! that's a shocker and he looked bulky and different in his much older roles such as the father of Homer in October Sky and all and he looks exatcly new in this video. Wow it's amazing and i heard he didn't get plastic surgery to or did he?

  • @XxImpactXGreatest I think Chris Cooper just has fine wine syndrome. He's one of those actors who just gets better looking with age. If you check out Married Life, he looks very slim and dapper.

What a great actor and charming man. It's clear that his speech was heartfelt and it's sweet how he praises his wife.

  • and he was amazing in American Beauty as well.

  • he is one of the few actors who wasn't ready to loose it .. he works hard even he see no way to be a star .. but he is an absolute one and no oscar can say that

  • pls i wanna see the video of jennifer connely won the oscars and AR RAHMAN for best original score and song. tahnsk

  • Chris Cooper in Great expectations is the best performance of his career..

  • Awww that was so sweet what he said about Meryl, actors just love her.He definitely deserved this award.Adaptation was a brilliant movie.

  • The voice of Chris makes me feel gay HAHAHAHA!!!

  • I finally saw "Adaptation" and in all honesty I prefer him in "Breach" or "American Beauty." I love Chris Cooper but in my opinion it wasn't his best nor was it the best of the year. Personally, I would have gone with John C Reilly or Christopher Walken in terms of actual performance. However, I do think its a great recognition of an underrated actor.

  • No clips?

  • Paul Newman looks happy for Chris Cooper when he wins.

  • @stanveg Well DUUUUUUUUUUH!

    YOU'RE SO HILARIOUS

  • How do you know Paul Newman looks happy he wasn't there? That's his picture.

  • @stanveg Paul Newman wasn't there, so you must mean another actor.

  • @KellyGreen5555 He's being sarcastic.

  • @stanveg hahaha

  • @stanveg Ahaha! That made my day!

  • @stanveg LOL

  • @stanveg its a picture lol

  • jennifer.. babababababa

  • Great win.

  • hey his wife plays Chris Moltisanti's mom on the Sopranos

  • lol, the description says "Chris Copper" i lol'ed. I need to see adaptation

  • He's one of those actors who has the ability to fall into any character he approaches. I have yet to see "Adaptation", but I'm sure he deserved the Oscar. I'll let you know when I see the film.

  • @ThatLastGuy You silly cunt

  • @ThatLastGuy

    Are you kidding man??

Chris Cooper was amazing in "Adaptation.", is one of the greatest performances to won an Oscar ever!!!! It was very strong year for that category, all the nominees were great, but Copper deserved it ;)

  • @HoicnelixRex chris cooper is my uncle he is one of the most talented actors ever thanks for the comment i bet he appreciates it

  • @HoicnelixRex i loved adaptation but walken shouldve won. one of the greatest performances to won an oscar ever...please that's ridicolous and bad grammar
