i went through the video frame by frame and followed where the guys hands were moving and which drums he was hitting.
because i animated at 25 frames per second, i put the video into windows movie maker and slowed it by half the speed to make it fit, then i moved the video along frame by frame and copied with my clay character.
hahaha im sorry but i agree with the last comment 100%: your friend is horrible, you can tell he hasnt been playing for very long. but your stop animation owned, though.
