I saw the series exept for the 2 first episodes, and i've always wondered why she didnt marry the guy...I did see the rest of the series and i never was able to understand why she didnt marry. yet its been one of the best series ever.

@celi1020 She did not marry Juca because Madame Janet, a fortune teller, said she would be very happy but not with him. They would not marry (missing about 2 weeks before the wedding). She would be happy with a man who would appear on the day when she lost her favorite shoe. BUT before year 1964 she would suffer a lot.

She said was not sure, that have no one else, but realized she did not love him although she believed that (at the beginning). She was even more sure of not getting married when saw his reaction. He insulted and slapped her. Then her family wanted to marry both to keep their social status.
