  • I think Linda Graham has a temperment problem. Graham looks like an old lesbian. Where's his girlfriend Bungler McCain?

  • U guys should watch this clip on the daily show and jon stewarts response ... VERY FUNNY !!

  • and pointless. these are lawyers' statements, not random comments pulled off the internet. i normally like stewart, but he didn't contribute anything to the argument.

  • Isn't it amusing how a group of old, white males can agressively interrogate and challenge a minority on her racial attitudes? If racial discrimination was not the norm in this country, you would see more minorities and woman included in these hearings. Must have been discrimination somewhere along the line, and it surely was not something Sotomayor created.

  • "old white males"

    Nice job being a racist.

  • And how who you describe the all white male committee? And how else would you explain an all white male committee acting as experts on discrimination and racial bias?

  • Au contraire, it is Graham who is arrogant, incompetent, and stupid. She is keeping her cool while he is trying to ruffle her feathers. If a woman dares to criticize, then she has a temperament problem. No one says that Scalia has a temperament problem even though he scares everyone that goes before him!

  • 3:00 "no sir"

Isn't she supposed to call him "Senator".

I'm sure he's a least a deserving as Barbara Boxer, to be called "Senator".

  • Funny, "Ma'am" is good enough to refer to a female royalty but not good enough for a senator from California...

  • "The sex card" is very relevant. These women might not have been accused of it because they're white, which is a bit more comfortable to the white males in power. Another possibility is that perhaps they didn't dare to be as interrogative and strong as the males on the supreme court. And how does the fact that the comments were from her colleagues mean it has nothing to do with her gender?

  • give me a break

  • Temperament? After my dog was spayed she was ok.

  • lindsey graham needs to learn to ask better questions instead of act like the idiot he is

  • Graham is the bully! He is such a pretentious jerk. His opening statement was out of line. This shows his temperment. She answered well.

  • All of the committee is suppose the grill the crap out of any nominee. Ask the toughest questions, sometimes redundent questions, because we want to know every single thing about this person.

Because this is the last time we will prolly hear sotomayor speak publicly

  • The republican party really needs to reread The Conscience of a Conservative by Barry Goldwater while I degree with some of his ideas ie "states rights" its a purer form of conservatism that is sorely lacking and needed in America today.

  • So....... "These Statement are stryking, they are not about your colleges"

YOU MORON Thats why she is were she is, she is not the same as the other colleges.

"Its time for self reflection", in other words...... i want you to be like everyone else and be part of the self loathing idiots who do not knos how to stand there ground.

If these crying people doesn't know how to apply the law, any judge will eat them for berakfast. If you don't wanna fight or cry pick another Career!

  • Agreed!

  • If we can measure "temperment" by Scalia... she has no problems.

  • Scalia? Thats different, he's brilliant...plus he is Italian, and they have those loveable tempers. But Sotomayor is one of those latino people...always whining about equal rights with their hot tempers and budding in. I hate it when women have that overbearing attitude.

  • How condescending of him. The accusations made against her were hazy and without specific examples. Her answers were clear and sensible. The only real reason she's being accused of being a "bully" is because she's a woman; if she were a man she would just be "powerful".

  • Can you give me an example of the limited government doctrine being implemented in modern day. I would say I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal as well but have a feeling we define the term differently. I agree with Individualism, but no party has upheld the "living within your means" tenet lately.

  • Comment removed

  • give me a good one

  • lindsey is a dick!!!! good ol boy mentality, don't tell me this guy lindsey doesn't have a temperament problem when dealing with issues

  • Ya this woman seems a little incompetent to be on the supreme court.

  • Of course. That's why she graduated summa cum laude from Princeton. And then went to Yale Law School.

  • With all due respect Senator Graham, I've read that some of your constituents think you are a ripe a**hole.

How do you think you can effectively represent the great citizens of your home state when this is being said about you?

Maybe it's time for some reflection and introspection, Senator.

  • He doesn't read YouTube comments dipshit. Grow some balls and call him if you have so much to say :)

You're not impressing anyone with indirect Internet tough talk.

  • Hilarious. My comments really hurt that shriveled raisin you call a brain.

Tough talk? No, I leave that to macho jack-asses such as yourself. What I did was use the Senator's own rhetoric to show the hypocrisy of his comments.

You didn't get it, but then again, I imagine you don't get a lot of things. Your writing suggests you are either twelve years old or mentally disabled.

"Grow some balls" - I am truly embarrassed for you. You exposed the limits of your intellect. Quite pathetic actually.

  • That was a great pseudo-intellectual retort, but really it just comes across as over compensating because you feel like a moron talking to... wait for it... YouTube commentors! Senator Graham will never read what you said, and thus you realize you are meaningless in the grand scheme of things, because you're too puss to voice your opinions directly. Don't get all butt hurt because I made you look like a fool over the internet. It's not a big deal... really.

    Cheers douche :)

  • Oh please. Who cares what whiny lawyers have to say about a judge? I would like to know the race and gender of the people who made those complaints, particularly the one about her seeming angry.

  • So your saying that anyone against her is racist? Typical liberal.

  • LOL a boy named Su...err Lindsey I am pretty sure you are afraid of bullies.... did you get bullied much Lindsey?

  • Oh shut up Lindsey. You need some damn self reflection.

  • Senator Graham...yet another member of the "C-Street" political brothel and right-wing extremist, indoctrination center? Politics is full of hypocritical politicians but honestly, the GOP should be given some kind of medal or award for having the biggest hypocrites, racists, and bigoted people in all of politics. Oh waitI forgot, their award awaits them in heaven. Nevermind.

  • Remember that no matter what they do, Republicans are patriotic real Americans with God on their side and you are not.

  • Lindsey, Lindsey, Lindsey... You have been miserable ever since yo momma gave you a girl's name.

  • hahaha! nice one.

  • No, I wouldn't say that. I would, however, offer the explanation that some who claim, or are claimed, to be right-wingers really aren't. Bush was a good example of that. I would also point out that people sometime leave their principles out of expediancy, which isn't right but does happen.

As for public schools, those who choose public schools over private are fools and suckers. Those who don't have that choice are trapped in the govt education camps, unfortunately.

  • LOL... you conservatard morons think you're going to rewrite 70-years of poly sci, because little jonah scribbled a book for his mommy's publishing company.. ROTFLMFAO

  • I don't understand the reference. "Little Jonah"? "mommy's publishing company"? I don't get it.

Supposedly, when facts don't accurately reflect the theory, the theory is supposed to change to fit the facts.

Unfortunately, Kata has shown us, again, the implacability of liberals in the face of contrary facts. Never admit you're wrong, just drag the rest of the world down with you.

  • conservatard practice #1: accuse the other guy of what you're doing

  • Whatever loser; next time try answering the questions.

  • whatever trigginlasvegas; I don't answer conservatards' questions

  • Oh for pete's sake, don't just repeat what you heard on Fox News. It makes you seem like you don't know how to research. There are two orgs with La Raza in the name: do you know which one she belongs to? Also, the term "La Raza" came from a book about a new race that was made of hundreds of different ethnicities. Not one race - hundreds of races.

  • Mr. Graham, why wouldn't we want a Supreme Court Judge who can fry greasy lawyers!?

  • I am glad he was tough on her, somebody needs to be if your going to get such a high position.

  • i agree. she clearly should (and will) be approved, but she should have to face the toughest vetting possible before moving on.

  • no no trigg, not "socialist".. "national socialist".

don't you remember your jr high school history classes?

they're on opposite ends of the political spectrum.

oh sure, an imbecile named "jonah" (whose only qualification for writing books is that his big, fat, pushy mommy is a publisher) decided to write a book proving that he FAILED history and hasn't learned a thing since.. but rational, intelligent ADULTS realize the two are polar extremes.

    Like "conservatard" and "American".. opposites.

  • nicely put i love the end comparison haha

  • nah, she's not a bigot. only a fraidy cat scaredy-scared fear-based shivering quaking-in-his-baby-booties yellow-bellied lilly-livered panty-waist sissy conservatard would believe anything that astronomically stupid.

  • You're a repub.

  • I assume, then, that you think Jeff Sessions shouldn't be in the Senate.

  • she's not a bigot. she's just proud of her heritage like any other american. republicans want to parse over her speeches, democrats look at her decisions. take it all in context, please.

  • Lindsey, please come out of the closet.

  • So, sen. Graham wanted us to have a president with a well known temperament problem, but now he's getting all picky..hmmmm!!!

  • bullshit, if you're neither a Democrat nor a repugnicant then you're probably a full-blown national socialist. your page is dripping with hatred. I'm not threatened nor afraid nor pissing with fear over having this woman on the Supreme Court. But then that's just me.

  • It's a sexist double standard. Dumb men admire tough men but dislike strong woman. What do they call them? Oh yeah, "bitches." It's sexism.

  • Who cares if she asks difficult questions to lawyers? They are lawyers, they should be able to answer the questions the judge asks them. I think I would want a judge in the SCOTUS to ask hard questions.

Just from hearing this, I would not want want attorney Lindsey Graham to represent me in court. Grow some nuts sissy boy.

  • Good ol republicans can only attack the character of people based on gossip and anecdotes instead of addressing actual arguments.

  • oh no! she's mean to lawyers!? how awful lol

  • Is it possible to rise to a high level in the judiciary without making a few enemies along the way? One anonymous commenter doesn't like her. Big woopie.

Are women more likely to be called a "bully" than men? Isn't that just a synonym for "pushy"?

Is it really unusual for a judge to have negative ratings from somebody, somewhere? I doubt it.

  • Lol, you know what's funny? Yesterday Glenn Beck was outraged that there was "no tough questioning" (there wasn't SUPPOSED to be any questioning yesterday).

Haha, I wonder what he's gonna say today.

Maybe he inspired today's tough questioning?

Maybe he'll still say there was no tough questioning?

Nah...he'll probably just forget what he said yesterday entirely and talk about her evil alliance with Acorn.

When all else fails-use the acorn trick.

  • Republicans don't like tough questions. It means that they have to defend their positions, and if we learned anything during the Bush years it's that dissent is unpatriotic.

Plus, if you're being peppered with questions you have to be able to defend your talking points quickly. If you're not telling the full truth to begin with that's difficult.

She seams like a no BS judge. The exact type that wouldn't deal with the typical right wing BS machine.

  • Personally I'd rather have a Justice with a bad temperatment who respects the Constitution, democracy and human rights then another reactionary like Scalia or Thomas who also happens to be polite and unemotional.

  • Good question and a good answer. Is my first reaction.

My second reaction is though what are the numbers of those who state she has a temperment problem. I would like to see the ratio as well as the cases reflected. Its all relevent when defending your position.

  • this dude is an asshole.

maybe this is a good time for her to self-reflect? maybe you should do a little of that yourself

  • Yep, anyone who asks tough questions of a liberal is an a*****le

  • turdinlasvegas, you're mistaking "tough" for "bitchy".

  • Nope, no mistake.

BTW - National Socailism is NOT at the other end of the political spectrum. Only a Public-school-indoctrinated drone would say that because it is an oxymoron to say that NAZIs are right wing.

  • btw, wow public schools are wrong? what about highly conservative roman catholic schools? LOL

  • If they don't understand the dichotomy between right-wing politics and NAZIism? I'd call that a bad education.

Right-wingers believe in the power, right and authority of THE INDIVIDUAL and abhor statism. Nazism (and its kissing-cousin, facism) believe in the collective power of the state, it is a statist political philosophy.

I've spent most of my adult years teaching public-school graduates how to add, subtract and correctly write simple sentences; public school is for suckers.

  • right or left we always end up in the same place in debt , more laws less freedom and more crime.

we have been fooled into a 2 party system and that if we do not want to be part of it we are not part of the norm or our vote will not be counted.

    Its all an illusion

  • Yep.

Classicly they are thought of as extremely far right wing. Not simple right wing. Hell, that'd make them comparable to Business owners.

  • I wish the republicans asked that to Mccain

  • first. ya she seems real pissed here

  • Oh Nancy Graham, Nancy Graham, when will you come out of the closet?
