Hi,I was the pilot of the glider on Sat,thx for ur comments Graham I trust ur a glider pilot too u seem to have knowledge of such things. The circuit for the landing was'nt a typical glider one as observed, there was a strong on crowd wind and turbulence from the cliffs on the left. For these reasons I chose to fly my intended final wide to prevent a cramped final turn in an unfavourable wind shear. The landing area was also large enough to carry out a completely uneventful landing.Excellent vid.
I hope it isn't the last. Find your local club and book a trial flight - but beware, you might get hooked. My daughter did get hooked, and soloed last Sunday (and she's still too young to drive a car)
Gally, it was a privilage to meet you at the UGC during the airshow weekend. It's been an inspiration to us fellow glider pilots to see what's possible in a well corriographed display from a 4000ft tow. Nice to see the actual display as I was stuck at the club fueling aircraft all weekend. Mind you, your practices were worth watching too. Take care, hope to see you over again very soon.
xtreambeam, very nice vid thanks. If you want an even closer look at a glider call and see us at the Ulster Gliding Club you'd be very welcome. Thanks again!
I agree, very skilfully filmed. Thanks for posting it here as I saw it on the day and wanted to watch it again. If the excellent pilot reads this, I'd be interested to know if the landing on the Saturday was a bit "hairy," as he looked very low out over the sea at one point and only had a sliver of beach to land on and didn't seem from where I was looking to use airbrakes at any point? Also did the seawater spray on landing go into the undercarriage?
awesome perfomance and beautiful music. !What is the name of the song??

You're welcome. I filmed it in high definition using a Sony TG3E.

Very impressive skills. The smoke from the wing tips was a nice touch. This is the first time I've ever saw a glider in the flesh.

Thanks, although the music was played through loud speakers so I can't take any credit for that.
