The greatest and most basic idea about the entire world is that there is enough land, resources, and man-power to establish a world wide system that feeds everyone (and gives them lively hood). It is not in politics, or in science, or in any religion will you find it. This is an alien concept (literally out of this world). We have to think if the planets are comfortable with one another and these are celestial objects then how much easier would it be if the entire world could function like so?

And it's the only thing since World War 2 that showed even a slight remorse by humanity about the 40 million casualties of that war.

Einstein wrote that we should give the UN the bomb when it was first formed. It sounds a little radical, but I actually would have like to see how history would have played out if every UN resolution was backed by nuclear weapons.

Doesn't work. People have to be forced to work or no one will. I respect these ideas, and I like them, but the economy is the only way to attain them.

The countries who are poverty-stricken should work hard on their economy like we had done in the past.

It's a very small planet. And how do we feel when other nations ignore the UN? Israel gets a lot of slack for not listening to the UN from the EU and the lack.

We are all humans with the same needs and desires. We have to see this place as one small planet with 6.3 billion brothers or we'll never progress and rid ourselves of warfare and global poverty.

While I disagree with much of the UN, the idea is a good one - global cooperation. They are the only ones worrying about Africa right now.

You have to think about subjects such as corruption and justice, organization, how nations develop long term. A 10 million country is different from a 80 million country. One 6.3 billion country is a new kind of world, in which a miniscule leadership rules everything, democracy is effectively destroyed (no cleaning), and there is no more comparison between nations. UN should therefore be dismantled, EU also, IMHO, China & India cut up, etc. To protect democracy, which cleans out leadership.

The waste of energy and resources is typical for our times. Some people say there will be war about water in the near future. Now there is already war about oil.

I absolutely agree, first we have to eliminate poverty globally. The Competition Stage of humanity, I think, has nullified itself and now we have to learn to work together and make life better for all.

However, the US & the West (the EU) has been endlessly using (and wasting) resources, I think G-d will put the world through a test (economic one. Also, I believe many of the Western leaders have gone astray and are looking to bring the world astray. This crisis Was Engineered. My view!

This is my point, the US economy is in dire straights. The dollar is plummeting and the US is conducting wars it can't finance.

BTW, Notice the Subprime CREDIT collapse, which foreigners financed and are now taking a big hit. I've read on a jewish blog that this 2008 financial crisis, is taking place in a shmittah year (isn't that when all debts are to be forgiven as stated in the Torah?) so was 2001? Is this a sign from G-d?

I know this planet has a history of bloodshed and violence that makes us all cringe, but we are all spiritual beings.

And technology gets better and better.

We all want the same things in life - from those born in Germany like you to those born in Israel like me.

Nice optimistic view, but as always in history the power will stay at the politicians and rich, and they don't want to change things. Like bdc03 already wrote, if the crisis gets too heavy they fight. And the masses are very easy to convince to start a war.

I believe that this economic crisis will eventually turn into war, because politicians like to start wars when the economy is bad. Socialism is nothing new in America. The New Deal after the Great Depression was our first major introduction.

And this recent bail out of certain sectors of the economy is nothing short of socialism as well. That doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is if we ignore what's really going on in the world. Hashem sees us and all our actions. There are people on this planet who live like animals and rich people who have it all.

We need to end global economic disparity and it starts with the US.
